This. There's merits in both examples. Because the EN girls are so far apart and worldwide travel is fucked, we got what felt like a vacation home movie. Shaky cam, dopey shit, stupid fun moments, a bunch of tourist-like locations. On top of that, it's EN 1 making the best with what they have. On the other hand you have a much larger production that is very much more oriented at fans of actual idol music/culture. It's also cool, but has a lot more of a manufactured look/feel. There's plenty of cute moments when they're chatting during 3d concerts like that, but it feels a little more scripted/controlled.

I'm watching it right now.

On one hand yes, it's a shame that it really looks like amateurish, Cover really should have been doing their job on at least giving some quality products and tools to work with. But on the other hand, it's just a stream about the girls having fun in VRChat and it clearly shows on how open they chat.
I've never really been a fan of the JP events or the whole "idol" act, I haven't watched nor am interesting in watching any of the major event. Yet I'm half through the EN one and plan to watch it until the end, even when I'm not necessarily interested int the songs either.

I'm just more interested in the banter they do, the broken VRChat even after all those fucking years of development, and overall seeing how the girls have evolved and where they stand now.

It's not even guaranteed popularity. In last month, Mel and Anya only broke 1000 concurrent viewers on collabs, and Anya couldn't even do it on all of them. Iofi had a stream that maxed out at 470 viewers two days ago. That's not even average 774inc or Niji numbers. ENs are probably still guaranteed decent following though.

Gen2 has far better synergy than Gen1 so I most recommend their collabs. My favorite full member collab was "Are We Dumber Than A 5th Grader?" but the others are nice as well.

As for solo streams, I most enjoyed Fauna so far, especially her Spore playthrough.
