Honestly I think I figured out why since they seem to have this affect on a lot of anons. They have variety, talent, and all get along and work well off of each other. You are pretty much guaranteed to find one of them to oshi, and they all have skills and interests different from one another. They also all seem to truly like each other and have chemistry which you can't say for most vtuber generations imo. Really good casting, whoever decided the final cut really knows what they were doing.

One of the talents talked about this on their discord both before and after /vt/ went batshit over it. Hylo was talking about how she felt uncomfortable getting donations before she streamed (in the thousands which was fucking insane to see) and asked discord if she could give back to them somehow ie song requests, a letter etc. Yuri liked this idea and they added the same rewards. Lumi had some small ones but they weren't the "date" reward Hylo and Yuri had. She had just a letter or song request. Seina and Pandora never had any. But the rrat spread anyways and Hylo has complained a few times about how out of context it became. I feel for her honestly, I am sure her company was pissed off given the backlash. She also clarified that the "date" tier wasn't a true date rather a "play a game with me in vc" but the wording fucked it up. Honestly, that entire ordeal needs to die it didn't deserve the hate it got with or without context.
