Why does Hololive continuously introduce character lore that's at odds with their nature as an idol agency? Let's look at a few Hololive members, shall we?

A rapping reaper. She can't say nigger or actually act thug at all beyond her tsundere shtick.

Scripted lore has never been relevant. Subaru becoming a duck, Haato developing personality disorder, Korone being a yandere, Coco becoming a drug dealer, Pekora becoming a criminal, Lamy being an alcoholic or Botan being a slav is all the lore that matter, and it's all stuff that came up organically.

Also I'm fairly confident Mori was never supposed to be a rapper. She's just a rapper because her roommate is a rapper, exactly how Ina is an artist because her roommate is an artist.

I think the point of the scripted lore is just to give them something to work with during and after debut since it takes time to develop the organic parts of their characters. Just imagine how Mumei's debut would have went if she didn't have the civilization shtick to fall back on.
