I'm just here for the lolz. And because I've still been lazy with my backlog of home board material, so I'm not caught up on the current shitposting meta there.

Granted, the ourbrrat stream last night was fucking adorable. Not a fan of clinically depressed Reine (ver3) or less yab Ollie (ver3) on their own, but I enjoy them in a collab together. I also still like old Reine (ver2) whenever she pops up in an en collab. On the other hand, Mori (ver1) is too patronizing as a shotacon (although I wouldn't be surprised if Lovel watches her religiously) , Kiara (ver1) is Kiara, and Ollie (ver2) had her yab settings cranked up so high she traumatized me with her NTR stunt and embittered me too much to ever have another oshi.

With tree, owl, negro, ame, ina, and gura being boring as shit, and the recent canceling of arc the lad killing any desire I had to do my reps and becomr the greatest male vtuber who ever lived (because fuck entertaining ingrates who won't even disappear your critics like REAL cult members would), shitposting in between the very few good streams is my only real entertainment.

Don't even mention nijisanji. They're boring as a shit (being more shoujo genre than anything else) except for Selen. The problem with the latter is that I got tired of Apex after getting my fill of ragtagg (and enjoying him a lot more than any chuba) years ago. There's just such a dearth of talent and entertainment value that it would be a great opportunity were it not for mainstream social media refusing to sterilize the rabid, violent puritans who go around organizing extralegal online vigilante mobs. As long as social media is a cesspool of social anarchy, I don't believe any legitimately talented person with a good personality would want to become a content creator right now if they truly considered the possibility of getting EDP'd just for being catfished while ALLEGED actual gangrapists like dobrik get a free pass.

If religious zealotry is being used by the church of advertising as a means of repressing competition, consolidating clout among their golden boys and girls, and artificially cooling down the content creation industry, I've lost faith that there will ever even come a day when I will find a good streamer who's consistently enjoyable for people over the age of 5. From that western perspective, shitposting is the only path forward as the stagnation of talent has killed any and all hype. That's not to say jp won't have great talent. I'm just not willing to waste years of cramming learning a language solely so that I can enrich someone other than myself because, let's face it, I wouldn't be japanese even if I did. Only women can easily insert themselves into a culture just by knowing the language. I'd rather learn something useful and give up vtubers when even a good collab stops being amusing.

When all is said and done, I don't see the future of western vtubing being anything other than just as low brow and uninspiring as conventional streamers currently are. Might as well just sell on the way down after buying the top and exit the market when the ride ends. Watching preproduced big budget content was always comfier anyway.
