Nah. Twitch just counts the streamer as a viewer. Probably by design because looking at a wall of 1 viewers is less depressing than 0 viewers. A 0 viewer stream is one that only just went live and the site hasn't updated yet. That's why there's so few of those compared to the 1 viewer streams.

To be fair, escaping the 2view hell is probably the hardest part. You can get the ball rolling and foster a small community to build on by unironically shilling yourself on this board. A lot of the bottom of the barrel vtubers straight up don't advertise themselves anywhere and expect viewers to pop out of thin air. The algorithm can only start picking up on you when it knows you already have a couple people watching you.

But on the other hand it is also an extremely saturated hobby and most will never break past 30 even with good shilling. Very few get past 100 even with a loyal viewer base. Humility is one of the first and most important lessons to learn when becoming a chuuba.

Saturated market, same thing with art twitch streamers, there's 10 or so at the top of the chart with 100+ viewers, and then the rest all down below. That said, some streamers aren't there as a job or to collect numbers, some are totally fine with just streaming for their friends/followers and the random who stops by. But plenty there are Not Gonna Make It, they'll be stuck forever with less than 10 viewers average. It's inevitable.
