I don't remember his e-name, but from what little I've researched on him, he's a shining example of what happens when a /tg/ autist garners enough clout to have an actual online presence. The vshous don't have a DM among them, so they made the (rational, I guess?) choice to enlist his services while being totally unaware of how absolutely tone-deaf his performance would be in a very different setting.

Calli's experience as a DM shows. She isn't some grizzled veteran of a hundred sessions, but she shows immense potential, as well as the skills and work ethic to craft an engaging and enjoyable experience for her group, all the while remaining aware that the session itself is also a performance in front of 16K to 32K viewers.

Some of the fan interpretations were really good, but Kiara's official design was very unexpected. I came to like it the more I realized it broke the mold on my expectations. It gives me Kate Archer / Joanna Dark vibes for some reason.

In the English language? Always was, unless there's some hidden gem indie I'm unaware of. However, quite a few Japanese chuubas also also DM TTRPGs, most famous of which is Fubuki. I know her choice of game isn't popular with /vt/, but I love the fact they use 3D for it.

It's a tad unfortunate that all Japanese TT consists of CoC, CoC, or CoC, but differing preference on games can be overcome. The language barrier, unfortunately, cannot. Kiara is perfectly fluent in English, and even she struggles with understanding the skill and merit descriptions in the WoD manuals.

ICP is a millennial phenomenon that's hard to explain easily. Everyone under 14 thought they were the coolest shit since sliced bread, then they hit 15 and realized how stupid and corny they are. I don't hate the guys, they seem like nice fellas, but their music is hilariously bad.

As to how they fit in: someone suggested the carnival swaps realms due to a ritual, the ritual is a performance, the performance is a concert, the concert is headed by obvious ICP parodies. If you understand the impact ICP had on the generation, the reference makes a lot more sense.

Call of Cthulhu isn't my favourite TTRPG, but at least it's not DnD. DnD gets more and more popular in my circles and I'm tired of people using it for something other than its brand of dungeoncrawling. Also, I've seen and heard enough of it at this point.

His GMing used to be great and he was always entertaining for the casual viewers (TTRPG players were sometimes annoyed by him allowing anime-level logic and rulebreaking).
But between his focus on his World with stupid loredumps and OP NPCs it's clear that he's too concerned about his own enjoyment and doesn't cater to the players, that promote him in most cases, enough.

CoC is just "The RPG" of Japan. Fuck, they're trying to get an anime made out of Mountains of Madness Replay.
Though I do hope they go into some of the other RPGs in the JTRPG market, honestly the format would be great for VTubers in general.

She chose Hunter due to its simple(r) rules compared to other WoD modules, and it's one she is intimately familiar with. Three of the four girls are first-timers, so there's that to consider. She also considered running a Geist campaign, but admitted it would have been too much for her group to try and learn for their first TTRPG. She even admitted Geist is sort of a mess, but it's one of her favorites as well.
