As a full package generation, I'd say Gen5 is actually the best. Even with the nerf of having lost Aloe, they still easily have the best chemistry and dynamics of any Holo generation, to the point where they manage to bound of eachother in entertaining ways even when not directly collabing with eachother.

As individual talents though, I'd have to concede that Gen 3 is the most stacked. You've got Pekora, Rushia and Marine in one generation, its going to require a lot to top that.

They're all talented, all have pretty unique streaming experiences, and collab well with one another. I don't know who was the scout for 3rd gen but they need to get back on the team. Not that the other gens aren't great but the other gens don't feel quite as diverse but still buddy buddy as 3rd gen.

Keep in in mind I'm not shitting on anyone, they're all very close, but this is just going by the amount of members I like per Generation. In actuality I'd prefer to just rate my favorite individual members rather than by generation since I only follow one or two per gen, except for the top 3 or 4 I listed where I follow more members. Gen 4 and EN I basically follow all of them except one or two members, and ID is soley carried by Ollie but I also like Reine a lot so that's already 2/3 of that entire gen. But with gen 1 I only somewhat follow Mel. I somewhat like Aki and Haato but I don't follow them nearly as much as members from 4th Gen which I basically keep tabs omn everyone from that gen. So it's not really a fair comparison in the case of another gen I haven't ranked as high.

Gen 3 is overrated. Flare and Noel are both forgettable. Marine is just a skank with an admittedly catchy theme song. Rushia is oji-san bait. Pekora is funny the first few times you watch her but she always does exactly the same thing so once you've seen a Pekora stream you've really seen them all.

For actual best I'd be torn between 4 and 5. Leaning 4 though. Towa, Kanata, and Watame are three of the most genuinely talented people in Hololive period. Coco and Luna are both natural born entertainers and extremely enjoyable. There are no duds in Gen 4, all five of them are excellent in their own ways.

For Gen 5, I think Nene is the only one who is a bit of a slouch, but the other 3 are all Top-tier Holos.

It took a while for them to gel as a team but, solo they all but more than make up for it. Coco, Watame, Towa and Kanata are the most unique feeling of most of hololive in that they feel very free in their personalities. Not to say others dont, but, 4th gen feels less like a gen of idols and more just friends taking the piss

There is literally no way to put this gen lower than 2nd or 3rd, they have extreme synergy AND solo appeal. Even as someone who doesnt much care for Flare can see her collabs with Noel and feel comfy as fuck with them. Rushia goes without saying is one of the most fun due to her volatile nature, Pekora is a chaos god and Marine outside of H O R N Y is super fun to listen to with some of her stories and her art is great to watch.

Gamers was created by Fubuki as an excuse to hire her real life friend Mio. They didn't have enough people to start a new gen so they picked up OkaKoro. The problem with this group is that the Gen2 brand was never a thing for them. It was only a marker to say when they debuted. I don't know when they started that 1 month restriction collab outside of your own Gen but boy they need some serious team building at the very start. Having 3 introverts is very hard.

Ayame is doing fine in spite of her health conditions. She's in 3 original songs I believe for Bloom right after HoloFes. She's in a lot of Officlal Holo Channel collabs and with F A M S vs OKBR. She did that Apex Tournament. And she does stream on her channel. She just doesn't pile them on. She can't stream collab and stream afterwards on the same day that is why it looks bad in numbers. I hope she participates in more original songs.

Shion and Choco are the underdogs. Choco has always struggled trying to find a game that can make her click with her viewers except ASMR and MC. She loves nerfing herself with Apex and ARC. Shion is Shion. I love her.

Eh I feel like most of the talents in Hololive are about where they should be based on the amount of effort they put into it. Except Aki, who genuinely tries her hardest and seems to never get anywhere unfortunately.

Choco certainly has the talent and personality to be successful but she doesn't push her content or try to stand out at all. Like just compare her cooking streams to Haachama's, Choco's streams use no camera and its just listening to her talk while in the kitchen. She also has potential to be a better gamer than she actually is. Her autism level in Ark and Minecraft are quite impressive and could make up for her lower natural skill/reflexes but she just never plays the popular games like the current Undertale trend, or even plays unpopular but comfy games like Animal Crossing. Hell she doesn't even like Minecraft so while everyone else is bonding in the JP Minecraft server she's by herself playing Ark or collabing with some indie vtuber on their channel.

Shion is pretty deservedly very middle of the pack. Her visual design and voice/personality are probably top 5 in Hololive but she's another one that prefers doing tons of zatsudans instead of unique content, and she has no real signature games or anything. The only thing she's notably good at is singing but there's better singers like Towa or even Ayame in her own gen, resulting in her being forgotten most of the time even though virtually everyone likes her. Being overall likeable but no one's oshi can hurt your growth if you stream only during primetime. If she streamed during more flexible times like Polka or Kanata she could make up for it like they do.

Honestly I don't have a preference for strongest gen but undoubtedly gen 1 is the weakest gen. Aki/Mel/Matsuri have all been struggling for so long, if it wasn't for Haato and Fubuki it'd be quite the sad state. There's also the fact they pretty much never interact with eachother or collab because "gens" weren't a thing back when they debuted so there's no bond between them at all.

Was kinda depressing when Aki did a lounge singing stream a month or so ago and didn't even break 5k viewers with no one else streaming, even while picking the exact songs Gura fans wish Gura would sing and doing them better. Sankisei just has way too much going for it as a Gen compared to the rest.

Beyond Gen 3, I'd say Gen 5 is actually well on the way of becoming the second best gen despite (or maybe because of) the hardships they faced at the beginning, followed by Gen 4 and GAMERS because there isn't really anyone in those gens that I find bad or unremarkable. Gen 2 has Aqua, Ayame for comfy feels, and hidden gem Subaru. Gen 1 has Fubuki, riising star Haato, and hidden gem Aki, and Gen 0 I both count and don't count as a gen (I like Miko and Suisei; Sora also has a comfy voice).

If you think about it in another way, only real fans stayed after the saviorfagging event ended and she got her motivation back? Because the earliest memory I had of Aki was always about being drunk when I didn't watch her then, which I don't see much of at all these days? Feel free to correct me on her lore and call me a clipfag but I don't mind knowing since I'm a believer now and her archives are nuked. As for what we can do for her other than having clip channels churn out clips I believe its kinda hard because I feel Aki has this unique flavor that endears her to me alot but every zoomer I know calls her boring aside from her ara-ara shtick. Those who like her loves her even if she's not their oshi, but most just move on for some reason.

But yeah I would be lying if I wasn't a little sad that even her kino birthday countdown stream was around 5k views i.e only her usual rozetai and people who loves the entire hololive.
