Motivation is a difficult beast, but the only way to make your stuff not look like shit is put in a shitton of hours into drawing. You should be drawing every day, at least an hour and hopefully more. There's no shortcut to decent art, I'm afraid. Any good artist you see on twatter will have invariably sunken thousands of hours into their craft.

As for the motivation itself, I'm currently drawing whenever Ina streams. Often it's hard to convince yourself to sit down and draw so an unavoidable deadline has helped me a lot.

Focus on one thing to improve at a time.
Suck at lineart? Do a control art, get better brushes, settings, etc, and dedicate the whole next session or two JUST to improve lineart. Do research, see what other people do to make it look good, try doing that yourself, when you fail pick up where did you go wrong and try again.
Also always draw from reference.
After just focusing on improving that part of your skill, it try comparing your old works to your new, and you'll find some improvements.

Then do that for everything you lack at. Color? Go hard on color. Anatomy? Go hard on anatomy. And so on. Some will take way more to "level up", but still.

At the beggining, always look at how people that are good at drawing do it and try doing it too. You won't understand why they are doing most of it, sure, but you'll avoid falling for obvious mistakes and your shit will slowly improve.

And try drawing things you like. For example Ina says she only goes hard on studies when she's feeling super motivated, and when she's not, she just likes drawing things she likes. Motivation comes and goes, and when it's not coming, just try to make the activity feel pleasurable to yourself.

You do need a lot of motivation for it though so if you're lacking it focus on two things, drawing regularly, daily if possible, and drawing things that will be fun for you to draw.

Other anons gave good advice, here's something else: try to find out if you really like to draw, or if you just like the idea of being able to draw. If you can't like the process itself and only like the product, it's going to be hard to become any good at it. Try to think about what you want to do and why, and how you could achieve it. This can help avoid a lot of pain during the process.
Something else: try to draw a lot at first. Not to the point of burning out, but to visibly improve when you start out. You won't get anywhere with one or two hours every week, and you'll just stagnate at the same level, which will be very frustrating. If you're going to have more free time than usual soon (or if you already have at least 1/2 hours a day), use that to try to get better fast

Won't lie to you /wah/, I'm starting to get really anxious at my inability to draw anything decent, much less good. Motivation is dropping.
I know with practice, "hopefully" I'll slowly get better at a reasonable pace, but I have a self-imposed deadline to churn out something good/decent by the last few days of the next month. But yet, I still can't even draw hair that looks decent.

Do you look at references when drawing?
I mean, an artist you really like for which you think "I want to draw like them"? Or art you know is good?

When drawing the shape of the head, do you see what's wrong with it when you compare it to good art? The placement of the eyes, nose, mouth, the weight of the lines, the lack of detail in the hair. Because it seems to me that you don't.

No one is born knowing things, and getting for the right ideas to appear out of nowhere is really hard, which is why cavemen didn't drew masterpieces. Knowledge is built upon knowledge. Don't be afraid to use it. Several good artists on the internet always say the same things: Don't draw from your imagination at first, draw from reference. This doesn't mean "copy" or "trace", but when you don't know what to do for a certain thing you want in your drawing, you can look at the reference and try to do it like they do.

If you feel like you cant draw something well (like hair), just find some images with the kind of hair you got in mind and try copying it. Stealing is fine while doing reps, just avoid tracing over tho.

Here's something that might help you out, tako. Let's be clear, you've been drawing less than a month. Improvement requires a massive volume of work, and a month is nothing. But if your art looks bad, that is, you can see that your art is wrong, then that's a good thing. Yes I do look at references. I've tried tracing, and I've tried just drawing from reference. The traces always end up looking decent, but copying just doesn't feel right somehow or another. My feeling tells me it has to do with specific curls, some patterns in drawing hair locks that makes it less monotonous looking. Or maybe it's just the "space" of each lock of hair that I'm simply not getting.
That specific drawing I did reference-less though, to test out if I've learned anything. Don't seem to have.

Drawing from reference is always better than tracing because thats how "real" artists draw, by having reference. There is a reason why those wooden human shaped pose dolls exist, or why people paint landscapes outside. Even Ina used references, in gartic collab out of all things.

Good luck, the idea is that once you form a habit of drawing for fun regularly it'll stop being so hard to start every day, and you'll miss it when you are unable to. I haven't hit my own goal of drawing every day because I'm a sad sack of procrastination, but I went rom drawing once a month, sometimes less, to drawing a good 3 times a week. It's still a bit of a chore to pull out the tablet to draw but when I miss a couple days I start wanting to draw really badly.
