The April drop for Gura is entirely based off of her game choices, as she was playing both MH rise (she's BAD at the game) and Super Metroid (which I love, but she's kinda meh at the game and there doesn't seem to be an audience among her base for it).

The sad fact is that both Petra and Rosemi are excellent streamers and not one of you gave them a chance. Here's an example - Rosemi's ASMR. She has two of them out and they're amazing. The newer now has 26k views, the first 71k. Meanwhile, HoloEN's Ceres' has 219k. And it's not as good. At all. There's a wide gap between the quality of what Rosemi does and what she does, so we again return to the obvious - much of HoloEN's popularity, subs and numbers comes purely because they were the first and now people are into them out of brand loyalty even though better content is out there.

This opinion of mine is further cemented by EN2. They're the equivalent of spam and not one of them is as good as NijiEN, and yes this absolutely includes Petra and Rosemi. In fact the only two HoloEN girls that are true titans are Gura and Ina. Yes, Ina. The rest have a big buff due to the above mentioned primacy of HoloEN, not actual content or quality. The often mentioned chemistry is also real to a profound degree. NijiEN really, REALLY works better when they're all together than HoloEN. Petra and Selen's zatsu stream for instance showcases just how natural their interactions are. They talked anime, catboys and random stuff and it was great. They aren't tryhards.

tl;dr much of the vtuber audience is genuinely wasting their time on HoloEN2 instead of watching actual entertainment and only American laziness and absurd brand loyalty is the reason.

Niji EN has to build a brand in the west, Holo EN didn't have that burden. Anycolor didn't really do much to differentiate NijiEN from Hololive at the start, they played too safe, even stuff like giving them a debut song didn't do much to show they were different, since, to a large part of the western community, cute girls dancing and singing=idols and Hololive=idols, so if anything the impression that they were just HololiteEN became bigger, there were, and probably still are, people who thought Lazulight were idols, even after they denied it, which goes to show how much that first impression affected the west's perception of NijiEN, which isn't surprising, first impressions are VERY important, so it's no wonder that what >>8825833 said happenned, they didn't really expand and brpught in a new audience. they just went for the existing one.
The girls have been doing a pretty good job at showing that they are different from HoloEN (Finana especially has been doing a great at that) and showing what Niji is like and presenting Niji to the west, but it will be a good while before that image leaves them completely and they are able to truly show to the general public that they ARE different and have something distinc to offer and begin to pull new audience and expand the market.

Eh, I would argue that they have done more than just that, some more so than others of course, and even more when it comes to bringing attention to Niji as a whole, but I do agree that they could be doing a better job at showing that they are different from others, though I don't have many ideas as to what, especially with Anycolor not having prepared perms better beforehand and some members still trying to find their footing.
