This is a fair request and I promise I will not judge any person only as a Vtuber, and you will constantly remind yourself that some of my generation judges people by their race, their belief, or the color of their skin, and that this is no more right than saying that all Vtubers are drunken dope addicts or glue sniffers.

People judge based on race because we're visual animals and what you call race is physical genetic traits that were tempered by hundreds of thousands of years of evolution. For better or for worse those physical traits are used as inference for the pattern associated with behavioral tendencies. The main problem isn't even necessarily a mud-like skin tone, since Tan Anime Girls are a known quantity - it's about how you balance the bronzing with everything else through the colour scheme, and Sana's character design is basically monochrome, with mainly just varying shades of umber, whereas there's no contrast in the scheme with brighter pastel colours. Even something as simple as a different eye colour can have a dramatic efefct. This One Weird Trick is like magic cheat codes for turning junk into diamonds.
