Since the last thread we've gotten most of this week's schedules! And unless there's a huge earth-shattering announcement over the next day or so you should definitely expect a pretty normal week from the group. Last night had Nyan bring us a new outfit debut along with some good old fashioned karaoke. Probably a bit too much if we're being honest, as it left her with a sore throat and some regrets today. On a lighter note, she's loving the new Anny-designed outfit so much she wants to wear it until October, when she'll debuting a new Halloween-themed outfit. What that will be is up in the air but it's not the only one as Mouse has confirmed she will also be getting a new outfit! And though it may not be an outfit, Zen has mentioned already making plans for the month of October that are being set into motion.

But that's not for over a month! This week's got a handful of notable events that we now know about as well. Silver will be fulfilling two of her subathon goals this week with a chat designed outfit or piece of art this Friday, and an Apex collab on Thursday with Mira. The latter is notable because Apex tends to revolve around teams of 3, and I'm sure there's a certain addict amongst our ranks eager to try and muscle her way into that collab. This week also brings us the return of monkey after being gone for 2 weeks! Whether you love him or hate him, a good number of people will readily admit they prefer him over the alternative that's presented itself over the past 2 weeks. We've also got another episode of Speak of the Devil, and though we don't know yet who the guest will be it's likely we'll find out tonight or tomorrow! The only person who regularly puts out schedules we're missing right now is Mel, which is convenient since she may have set up a collab with Layna yesterday that can now be reflected on it.

The week's just starting out, but the start of every new week is a good time to discuss the immediate future. Or we could spend the thread talking about the auditions again. Either one is good. What's important is you keep the thread comfy by ignoring bait, and being excellent to each other.

Pretty indifferent to him for the most part, though I thought he was pretty funny with Mouse during Rust. So it probably just depends on the "what" more than the "who" for me.

It depends on the field you're applying for work in. In the case of VShojo, soft skills and particularly being able to sell and hype yourself is basically the job itself, so padding your resume is showing off your ability (they're talking about it now, actually).

In hard STEM fields, you're more likely to get found out for lying sooner rather than later and will be salting the earth in future interviews if you do happen to get the job after padding but can't deliver on your promises.

It really depends on who's doing the interview. If it's an engineer or technician who actually puts hands on equipment in the field, you're better off telling the truth because they appreciate knowing exactly what they have to work with. I wouldn't worry about VShojo and model ownership or anything. A brand new vtuber would require months of preparation to commission an artist and get rigging. Even if they could push some buttons to get some favorable treatment, you're still talking about 2 months minimum in the current state of vtubing and the continuing boom. Of course that would cost money to set up: model, rigging, setting up the necessary equipment, sound, computer specs, etc. I do not know if VShojo would loan out money to the newcomer and let them pay them back later (which shouldn't take long if they blow up halfway decently thanks to debuting with one of the larger western vtubing agencies) but I don't think it would change their policy on model ownership. The person would own the model and be allowed to take it elsewhere if they leave. I sincerely doubt VShojo would have to worry about a situation with other agencies bringing on vtubers and them leaving quickly, so they wouldn't need a contractual obligation.

But I don't know. We're in uncharted territory here. The previous non-vtubers they brought in were an artist who designed her own model and worked with the riggers to get it to do what she wanted (Froot) and someone who was well off enough she could afford all of it herself (Hime). This will be interesting to be sure.

It is possible VShojo doesn't know yet either. Would a brand new vtuber with no history and no following just use a default Vtube Studio model in the meantime? There are risks, for sure. I don't think "male vtubers" would be a big deal for most of VShojo's fanbase. They might not be able to build a fanbase like the girls have, as male vtubers just struggle in the west (unless you're Bahroo). Takahata does okay, but even he's an oddity and has a background that helps him. I don't pay much attention to the male vtuber side of things so I don't know who else is out there. The only male vtubers I know of that are successful are in Nijisanji JP.

Or the auditions aren't really for the former but only for the latter. Haruka, for example, doesn't need to audition. They know who she is. If they wanted to invite her they'd just do it. If she asked to join they wouldn't put her through an audition process. I legit think the auditions are for two groups: males and / or smaller streamers and / or people wanting to make the jump to vtuber wanting to do it on the down low.

One thing I am sure on is they will not debut all the accepted applicants at the same time. Say they bring in a couple of known ones (Haruka, Bao, Snuffy, Momo whatever) immediately and maybe make a statement they weren't part of the audition process to keep the legitimacy alive, then they debut a VShounen or VDanshii or whatever with at least 5 people to make a good solid group for a sausage party, and then months down the road we get the newcomers because they'd need to get a vtubing model or maybe a better one before debuting. The last two groups will be the lauded as the auditions. Total guess: 2 established new members, 4-5 males for a VShounen, and 2 total fresh faces.

I wouldn't worry about "forcing" collabs. That's not VShojo's style. They have done it before a couple of times with the brief Friday night "VShojo Channel" collabs that died quickly and VShowdown which was more about doing special events together but who knows if that'll keep going. There's no forcing of collabs together on anybody's channel. The girls do all their own content and so will the newcomers.

You'll get SOME of it at first just to get exposure, but after that they're on their own.
