Back to School Edition

Welcome to VShojo+! A thread to discuss VShojo, and any vtubers frequently associated with them.

Not a lot to recap on since since the last thread was made at the tail end of last night's few remaining streams. Most of it centers around Vei who had a couple minor announcements. There's a vague mention of some sponsored first-look kind of streams that could be on the horizon, as well as another potential collaboration with Haruka and Scarra in F2P shooter Splitgate. Tricky Towers is also a pretty popular game these days and she talked about getting a full 4 person collab with that going sometime. Which 4 of the 5 SNIVS girls would be interested is unknown but at the very least it sounds like Snuffy's on board! But for as interesting as all that is there's not much in the way of hard confirmation or dates for any of it so we'll need more info before getting too enthused.

In news that is decidedly not centered around Vei, there was a new back-to-school themed merch drop this morning! It's at the same place as always so check that out if you like because some of the items are really fucking cute. If nothing else, more merch means more great art to look at and there's some nice pieces for all of the girls with this one. Also Hime, who's visiting the states at the moment has finally obtained some much-needed cables and will be able to stream a live reading of Kanna's Daily Life tomorrow. Mostly notable because she tends to go live whenever the fuck she feels like it and doesn't really do scheduling. And while not important, Zen is still really happy about having gotten the chance to play with Selen, and that's cute. Also Mowtendoo said there's a big announcement tomorrow. There's no info beyond that so it might not even have anything to do with us, but it's definitely worth noting!

Overall not a much of any importance, but that's because our most hotly anticipated streams for the day haven't yet fully arrived. We're still early in the Minecraft dubbing stream from Nyan, and still have the FalseEyeD interview with Mouse on Speak of the Devil later today so be prepared! There's always been a bit of a curve when it comes to viewers and subs as well. Twitch gets you fewer viewers because Youtube is just a significantly bigger platform overall that literally everyone uses. That's why direct comparison in viewcounts and subs/followers has always been sketchy. The sites just don't line up in that way. Bahroo is the biggest vtuber on Twitch and he's not even at 1m followers yet. Nyan just hit 600k but the ratio of followers to viewers is just plain better on Twitch. I don't know how much of that is Twitch's handling of bots or how much is just Twitch being a more "serious" streaming platform so people who follow there are more likely to tune into streams. Therefore, it does not make sense they would do fake auditions if they already decided who was joining, they would just add the new member to the group, because they don't have to cover up their lack of application process.
