For a variety streamer you need a "main game" or a game you can fall back on when you have nothing you want to play. Minecraft is especially good for the non-hardcore gamer types in hololive since you can just chill and chat while playing whilst not running out of things to do.

Not him but its probably the most fun I ever had with Minecraft before I got sick of not being able to reset for enchantments.
It probably provided my most cathartic experience in Minecraft when it was Winter in-game, watching the snow pile around my tower base and equipping insulated armor to not freeze outside or while flying around to do stuff.

It's because having a job where all you do is play games everyday makes them terribly unfunny at some point. Minecraft is a game where you can simply relax and turn off your brain while building or whatever, so it probally ends up being a placeholder when the girl doesn't feel like playing anything. Plus, playing with a lot of friends in a closed server must be cool.

For a stream they can make small projects, chip away at larger ones, host planned collabs with others and impromptu ones with whoever's on the server. It can function as a social hub where Holos can interact with each other in a slow-paced setting, so it's useful to have a prescence there, even if you're not super into it.

It's fun for a couple of years when you don't know what you are doing but afterwards it slowly starts losing its charm. The only way for it to be even the slightest of interesting anymore is via mods but most of the mods that people recommend make mining and crafting tedious as fuck by adding alternative ways which are mandatory and make the gameplay slower like RLcraft or they go the route of limiting everything to random bullshit like sevtech. Every other mod that doesnt get much recommendation are just "here i added like 3 new weapons into the game" or "i added a new ore thats stronger than netherite!".
