That's true for Forest, but Kiara really is that clingy and needed for affection. Think about it like Pekora; Kiara got so attached to Pekora because Pekora was the only thing keeping her sane during all the time she spent isolated in her room addicted to hololive because she literally had nothing else to do.
Getting to know Forest and needing to be in contact because of work made Kiara attached to Calli, and because of how open she is, Kiara finally could open up and talk about her worries with someone, which is what she needs to do to heal the wounds she carries from her past.
She appreciates the role Calli played in her life because of that, even if Calli really didn't needed to do much other than sending her a shitty mic and going out to eat meat a couple of times.

I get what you are saying and I am sure you didn't mean it that way, but that sounds like some staged reality TV format which would struggle to feel genuine at all. I don't know about their relationship outside the streams, but I think them being so isolated helped them a lot with becoming friends. And foreign exchanges are less prone to shared experiences of isolation than being foreigners who only end up meeting each other because of work.

That's the whole reason she was crying. Yes it's sad to leave friends behind, but when you are more prone to tears than others, that just shows that Kiara's reaction is just how she is. I've moved across the country and lived with people for a year, and then had to move back home, never to see those people ever again that I had made memories with (it was a group internship). I had to do the same thing a few years later through another internship where I'd spend a year with people only to go our own ways afterwards. It doesn't get any easier, but while I'm not one to cry so easily I still understand that it hits hard for some people.
