I personally think he went too deep into experimental if he's aiming for broad appeal. The vocals don't really carry much of a melody but are used mostly for adding extra rhythm to the song (this is especially the case in Patra's song).
Without a strong melody or any pronounced hooks or "drops", it's not pop enough, and people like pop(ular) music.
I like it, but most of that is because it's a sound that's not super common, but is still something I find catchy. But if I had to choose between the old Yunomi sound and the new one, I'd pick the old one

I am extremely fucking horny but with the metaphors relating to sailing a ship

Here is a YT comment that translated it

Was the bottle too hard perhaps
Or maybe it was just the bow that was soft?
The life-sustaining red wine keeps floating on the waves
The one who picked it up and drank it was a recovering addict
Even though the sky is so wide, I have this bizarre feeling
Oh, right, it's so simple - we still haven't decided on the captain

That's the main reason why we can't find common ground
Together with you, that's five sailors
Are those all the candidates then?
Can we just agree that the three are unneeded?

Put down your weapons, we're on the sea
To steal from each other is not normal
It's best to decide it by majority's rule, y'know?
Oh, everyone is voting for themselves, I see...

Now that it has come to this, it's up to you, SILENCE
No matter whom you choose, I won't mind
It's the last voyage, we can go wherever
Here, give me the wheel, it's time for the shift

PLEASE, MISTER SILENCE
Ah, why
Ah, why is it only you that can choose?

Please, CHOOSE ME
Please, CHOOSE ME
Come on now, quickly please, while the date hasn't changed yet
CHOOSE ME, CHOOSE ME

If you don't choose today, we won't be able to do anything
If you won't think about it, everyone will be worried
If you hesitate now, we will sink, into the deep sea

We'll sink, into the deep sea
We'll sink, into the deep sea

Shaking, soaked body, regaining consciousness
Overflowing from the bilge
We've been beached, there's a hole in the hull
Ah, why is it only you that can fix it?

Please, fix it
Please, fix it
Come on, quickly, patch it up right now
Go crazy about it

If you don't patch it up today, I won't be able to do anything
I feel it, soon I won't be able to hold on
Won't you go looking for the precious thing?
Onto a grand voyage of our dreams, into the new world!
If you are not there, there is no point to it
If you won't think about it, I will be worried
If you hesitate here, we won't be able to go, definitely

We won't be able to go, definitely.

So, It seems like she's getting uneasy about her future plan even though she got a ship to set sail which means she got means to make her wish come true. But she feels ominous feeling about the way she goes, and perhaps it's right. If she choose a wrong way, everybody will stop coming to her stream in a few months and she'd lose popularity.

And, my assumption is those four Marines represent each of her personalities as pirate (taking leadership), wearing swimsuit and sunglasses (outgoing and social), wearing luxurious kimono (being wealthy business person) and wearing goth&loli costume (otaku girl). And, she hasn't decided which of her is entrusted and the best to go with. It kinda remind me of Mishima's novel "Kyoko no Ie". Interestingly, it has a similar setup.
