The commonality between both is that both started as indies and, hence, likely own at veryl least the character and the original design.

Rest of the talent can leave but their characters likely wouldn't be able but for Kuzuha and Suisei it may not be legally impossible that you could see them as themselves on Sony

If we're talking about vtubing music career, assuming Suisei has no intentional of quitting vtubing and becoming an irl artist, then I don't see why she'll leave. She's already at or near the apex of the vtubing music world in terms of numbers like subs, MV views, cover views. Suisei gets more views on her releases within 24 hours than most vtubers do in months. There's maybe a Vsinger like Kaf or RIM with an original song that has more views, but no one except Mori has Suisei's ability to grab views. For example, Ghost is still getting 300k a week and it's been months. She has no reason to move to Sony when she's already doing so well.

The two companies have different business models and target audience.
Interest usually dies down after 3 months, but idol fans last much longer than casual fans, so it's easier for Hololive to grow their fanbase in that aspect, but a hiccup can turn a portion of those hardcore fans into hardcore antis.

I don't have the Niji numbers on hand, but in August so far, I don't think anyone but Kuzuha has gotten over 40k playing Powerpro. Most of Niji's big numbers in August are all Kuzuha actually IIRC. There was the soccer tournament a few days ago, but that was <40k for all 3 POVs.
