If you can’t just push yourself down the water slide (it’s easier than you think once you go past the point of no return), do the opposite of this. Don’t go live, just record yourself doing a stream. Talk to yourself as much as you can, then watch some of it back later and find areas you can improve. Talking to yourself is the hard part of streaming, so going live with dead air doesn’t really practice anything. And you still get footage you can convert into VODs and clips if any of it’s good.
Also, I’d advise setting yourself a hard date for starting to go live, unmuted, and then keep that date no matter how unprepared you feel. Don’t practice indefinitely.

This is a great idea. Set everything up in OBS to stream, but hit "start recording." You can even roleplay with yourself as if you were responding to chat.

I know the numbers are still small, especially to any experienced streamer, but I'm finally getting over the complete and utter imposter syndrome; and inability to shill myself everywhere.

So weird how other chuubas are majority of my audience though. I got a $20 dono from some dude who I've watched a few times, and five or six 69 bit drops because I'd just say 'nice'. You can give back to them by looking for ways to improve the stream. New alerts/graphics usually gets people somewhat excited and aren't hard or expensive to set up

Try looking into Triggerfyre for setting up channel point alerts. I have some sound effects set up to play on redeems. Nothing to big or long, but things like a bonk, sheesh, etc...

People LOVE being involved with streamers more than anything. Best way to give back is to give them a way to directly influence what others are seeing. I have some funny clips of Souls games where people have timed "Bonks" to play when an enemy hit me or did something in a cutscene

are you doing it for the money or are you doing it for the hype? if you're doing it for the money, just give the money directly to your friend, what's the issue there? the point of cross donating bits and subs is to trigger a hype train going so other viewers start making big donations. what's $20 bucks lost when you can trick 50 other people to contributing to a hype train and make $120 back from it?

Super late to this, but... I'm PNGTubing atm too. You just gotta get started.

I have a lot of people asking me about a proper model, so if you start as PNG and get people intrigued, there's going to be much more hype to you getting a proper model.

You could add some expressions via toggles, which could help you sort of bridge over to having a proper model. Those could just literally be overlaid eyebrows and a frown.
I was playing DS3 and losing my mind to Dancer, so I put a clown wig and red nose over my PNG, and people loved it.
Don't be shy to add some accessories depending on what game you play, especially with how easy that is for PNGTubers. Really use that to your strength.

Alternatively, you could look into VRoid to make your own 3D model with assets downloaded from booth, but I don't really like the way they look personally.

This is something I ran into while considering doing a read/playthrough of a CYOA novel. In short, most publishers are very restrictive with anything approaching audiobooks. Even if you do manage to get a reply from their social media, it's often just a canned response of "Thanks for your interest, but no." This even extends to stuff written 30+ years ago. If you truly want to do audio readings, find a book in the public domain.

>> No.7666937

>>7666757
I'd disagree.
Its pretty common for everyone to shit on male fashion irl too. Even among anime/vidya males they're usually mocked for being pretty generic. Women always have more variety they can work with when it comes to fashion and design.
The big thing is anything men wear a woman can wear just as well as he can if not better/more naturally. Girls in suits are sexy, and the cut of a female suit accentuates her body more than it does for men. Sporty women are well liked as well.
But the opposite isn't true, most female clothing is wholly unsuited for male use without massive modifications, and even then it'll usually turn into something extremely flamboyant. Plus you're usually limited when it comes to hair, which is a big element of anime art styles. Almost all male characters have the same generic short-medium length hair styles.

Not that you can't make attractive male characters, but from a fashion point of view you just have less to work with when it comes to male. Best bet for male designs is going military or fantasy, but that carries its own problems.

>> No.7666956

>>7666757
I personally think its just a lack of awareness on what you can do with male designs. Men's fashion does tend towards subtlety but even with modern looks there's loads of variations, albeit less "flashy" than men's fashion. Of course that's ignoring the often cancerous streetwear looks and the works of more forward-looking designers.

There's also a multitude of historical fashions you could draw on. Menswear wasn't always the Brummel-esque collection of subdued colors it's currently known as. Nothing's stopping you from streaming at an 1860's courtier, or any other flashy historical archetypes.

You're SOL if you think you'd get permissions.

I know of two posters here who do readings - one does out of copyright stuff (Beowulf, Shakespeare, etc); and the other turns off clips/vods, and just hopes nobody records it.

If you pick something without an existing audiobook, you probably face low risks... But it's up to you if you want to risk it. Best case, if you get caught, is any income from that stream is taken, and a percentage of everything since (if they can argue you got clout from that stream).

Personally, I'd advise either picking self-published things from Amazon, or ones without copyright. If it's self-published, then there's not a company going to go to war with you over it if anyone ever finds out.

Which actually makes me wonder - is fanfiction a safe one to read on stream?

>no money to hire an artist or whoever to make the live2d avatar
One thing I've been thinking on is streaming a 'making of the streamer' style. For me personally, my character's a wizard. So it'll be "runic preparations and rituals", but it's just me learning vroid.

But you could start from scratch. Make a shitty open/close mouth smiley face in mspaint in your first stream. Build up complexity over time, stream all the rigging, all the drawing. Could maybe be interesting, but you might need to port in an audience from existing.

Of course, this requires you to have art skills.

Which you said you don't.

If we assume they take from the same limited pool of en vtubers, I wonder if Kani Kanizawa made it in just judging from this tweet. She's not been active recently and it fits the time frame, plus she's friends with Miki/Rosemi

Since we're being doomers just just to critique the male fashion designs.
>>7675620
is kinda okay to work with. but its a bit simple which makes it kinda boring. the intricate design is what makes it work here and not just be a generic robe, but having an artist actually do that would probably take it into the uncanny valley type of effect. and keeping it too simple turns it into just a boring robe (which is what maimoto? has basically)
>>7675654
is just a gay looking suit, but without the simple appeal of a suit. at this point I suggest just getting a well tailored suit that accentuates a pretty boy look or go with a bartender look.
>>7675691

>>7675715

also t-shirt and jeans with a bed sheet thrown on top.
>>7675794
something similar to this could probably work, but its basically just a generic hoodie/tshirt since you'll never see the skirt

personally i'd lean more toward victorian style historical designs and such. I think they're probably the sexiest a man could be, take inspiration from black butler and such.
going full fantasy would be a negative imo because it usually just feels like generic male protagonist man rather than something unique. e.g. i was looking at atelier characters to prove a point, but all the men look like they could be copy and pasted into any game and look like the hero protag, while the girls all felt fairly unique to their setting and i can immediately point out an atelier girl.
