What if your general was not just a general but a nation, devoted to your oshi and their will? Enter this general where the fanbases and generals of /vt/ are reimagined as rival nations fighting bitter battles or beginning wholesome friendships for the glory of their oshis.

Ohh I like that, the one that hasn't debuted is a bird too, so an egg is pretty thematic. Her name is Nell, she got hired to be a corpo vtuber, but she realized a day before debut that her internet speed is around 200 kb/s, so she's been entirely unable to stream... it's been three weeks...
There's another that got to debut, but the debut was a disaster, and she hasn't streamed in a couple weeks either, I'm thinking whatever religious event aligns with the "debut" was disrupted by some metaphysical entity (rrated to be her abusive parent/husband) and broke her ability to commune with her followers for the time being.

Ive actually been thinking, I think we unironically need more WAR. I know very well I was very hesitant to talk about it before but I think its the war aspect that people like a lot. Either that, or more nation interaction. I mean lets be real, whats the point of writing all this cool freaking lore if you dont do anything with it?
Am I the only one who feels this way?

Your unironically the most talented person in the thread and I know for a fact I told you that your literally the reason i moved to vnug and fell in love with Kokone and her literal god tier boobs.
But your right. We came back just to show up in divegrass it feels like and then just fell off completely.
That thing about bouncing off people, that was always the most fun. There was a reason why I literally has Risu people just randomly show up to peoples front door even if they were halfway across the world (/rose/ being the prime example) and that is still one of my favorite stories. Like I said, whats the point of doing lore if its just lore? I do feel like you actually need to do something with it to make it feel worth or at the very least have enough people give feedback and stuff.
The ONLY suggestion I could possibly give out is to go into generals and recruit newbies but I think I remember us getting shit on for that so I wont be doing it personally.

The idea I had in mind would have been something similar to what /qst/ does, by having it be something similar to a tabletop RPG with rolling to see if actions succeed or fail, and having territory divided into subdivisions that can be fought over with a basic gamified system, or have roleplay resolve conflicts.
Unfortunately it just wouldn't work with few active nations, since we likely wouldn't even have anyone bordering eachother to war with, and the world would just feel fake with only a handful of nations actually doing anything.

I took the old Risu setting and made it essentially playable. Earlier today I had 5 people play it for a 2 hour session and it went something like this. Keep in mind there are total fucking newbies
>You start here and your mission is to find out wtf the risuners are doing near their big sacred magic tree
>"LETS JUST FUCKING GO FUCK USING ROADS OR VISITING PLACES GO RIGHT THROUGH THE JUNGLE"
>I roll with it and roll for monsters because well jungle has scary shit
>10 minutes later they are all nearly party wiped by a fucking giant constrictor snake because they all suck.
>They eventually make it only because the cleric spammed all his healing spells in one encounter
>They cross the demeter-ceres road and head straight for magic tree land
That's pretty much it. I really hoped they would have visited more places but the act of just saying "no fuck you we go in straight line" took me by surprise. Anyway I'm gonna throw more dangerous fuckery at them for the lulz.

No, I agree bringing the "collaborative" part of "collaborative writing" is pretty great. It gives an excuse to discuss aspects of someone else's lore while you write their inclusion, and it gives an excuse to have them read it after to make sure you did it properly, both of which drive activity in the thread. I tried to do it, but I should probably have done it more. I guess it's just a bit more effort than retreating into the autismcave and writing away, so it doesn't come naturally to me.
>>75911937
>>75913298
Yeah, same, more or less. I don't reeeeally mind just writing into the void, but there have been times where it felt like I was keeping the thread up just to have a place to post my lore in rather than for anyone else, which felt like an exercise in observing my belly-button. You helped it feel less lonely in here for which I'm thankful. But I don't think two contributors make a thread. More recently someone was working on /jidf/ which made me happy.
>>75912791
/nasfaqg/ had a bit of a revival recently, nothing really happened but some active new blood made it in and brought some activity with it. One issue is that the barrier to entry for vtwbg might be a bit higher (making OC vs starting a nasfaq account and buying coins).
>>75915930
/ag/ lore both in Vitubia and Space Vitubia was super kino, I'd recommend reading up on it.
>>75916584
If you had a system with good production values (like nice graphics and stuff) and you marketed it a bit (by making some non-vtwbg catalog threads and posting in some larger generals, like LOTB or Ogey Calibur), I think you could find a lot of anons be interested in participating. Participating in a quest is a lot more accessible than writing lore. If you'd like to workshop this more I'd be happy to help.
>>75921702

/jidf/ anon here, we've recently acquired 3 new talents out of no where with our Encore group, featuring 2 talents bringing their PLs.
Lisa is especially interesting considering that she is now on topic for discussion in over 3 generals, including /jidf/, /tsunx/, and /wool/.
Since it's a music themed group, our residents of the nation of /jidf/ in viti now have 4 musically focused talents to draw upon for our musicians, including Roca, and now Lisa, Tonya, and Enya.
Given that Lisa is a sheep she would likely also be worshipped by the shepherds of our nation.
With Enya her lore is that she's a fire"fighter" that actually starts fires, which doesn't bode well for the residents of /jidf/ considering that it could imply that our firefighters are corrupt arsonists who themselves start fires to collect money putting out the fires.
Militarily this also gives us access to fire magic for combat, along with Ruby who also has a slight fire focus.
Tonya is a bit more vanilla lore-wise with her lore mainly being that she is a smilodon(saber-toothed tiger) and that she wants to be the king of all cats. I suppose she could also be worshipped by warriors and singers alike.

Aside from combat I suppose priests/monks would often be Taiga worshippers, Hunters and maybe farmers would be Meica worshippers, Witches/alchemists would be Ruby worshippers.
For Lala I'd imagine her worshippers would be little girls in general, as opposed to people in any specific profession or social class.
For Koa her lore is that she's the daughter of the Demon King, but I'm not sure what her worshippers would be aside from Dark magic users.

The problem is that much of the ecosystem relies on rock palms in one way or another. Plus most of the land is hard rock or sand. Rock palms rely on symbiotic fungi to break rocks to sow roots. If a fire were to hit there wouldn't be much soil to mulch with ash. Most of the good soil is around the library in the Caldera where it's already deforested for farm and bamboo/rattan land save for a guava orchard. Also the dodos are flightless. So they'd have no way off the island in a fire. The fucking turtles would be fine. Hate those things. They bite holes in the hulls of boats.

The planet is comparable to the Earth in that regard, just a bit warmer and wetter. If you go far to the North and South poles things get really cold, a bit closer to the equator it's temperate, and then close to the equator it's tropical. It's fun. You eat a bunch of food, mostly animal fats. Then you slather vaseline/petroleum jelly all over yourself before going in. You don't jump straight in. The cold shock will kill you. You go in one foot at a time so your body adapts to the cold. The big thing to keep in mind is you need to be swimming with your whole body all the time as the movement will keep you from freezing. Then ten minutes you're done. Just make sure the water isn't too cold as instant freezing is a thing. Also this can only be done in freshwater lakes. Saltwater is colder and it erodes the vaseline.

Worldbuilding topic of the week: crime and punishment
What are your legal systems and prisons like? Are there any crimes that are more harshly looked upon in your nation than in others? What kind of punishments can be meted out to criminals: death penalty, forced labor camps, etc? What methods of execution are available, if any? How are criminals treated in society once their sentence has been served? Are they permanently marked in some way to identify them to others?

Law and Order in Morijigoku
Morijigoku has an unusual approach to its legal system, wherein it's theologically motivated, and staffed by members of the various religious orders. This aspect gives it a reputation for being somewhat antiquated in other countries, but satisfaction with its outcomes is high in the population.
Its foremost feature is that a set of crimes are considered blasphemous: unholy deaths, which include suicide and killing by any individuals who lack the priesthood's blessing to deal death, and true necromancy, which requires the reinstallment of the soul in a deceased body (This nuance makes the puppeting of corpses a much lesser crime). Being found guilty of any of these will lead to a ritualistic death forsaking one from the honours due all deaths, with the details of the death varying based on the local denomination. The sacred scythe is never used in these, as it is reserved for holy deaths. Beheading with a sword is most common, though the stabbing of the heart with a dagger is also frequent.
In smaller communities, rituals intended to inflict pain alongside death exist. "Separation" is a process wherein each limb is taken from the forsaken one through amputation, starting with the arms, legs, and finally head, though the individual usually passes out from shock by the second arm, and will quickly bleed out from the untreated leg amputation. Most fearsome is the "Breaking", in which every bone of the body is expertly broken, one by one from the fingertips to the shoulder joint, from the toes to the hip bone, and finally from the coccyx up the spine to the skull. There are no records of a criminal surviving much past the start of the "spine" phase of the process. Such barbarous rituals are unseen in larger cities, and only found in more remote communities.
For lesser crimes, corporeal punishment is preferred to imprisonment, as the keeping of men in prisons as cattle is considered an uncouth and dishonorable retribution; amputation of fingers for grand theft, castration for rape and lashings for misdemeanors such as venial theft, unsanctified dueling with no fatalities, or trespassing. This makes criminals easily identified, but the populace's general confidence in the system's ability to curb recidivism allows them to be relatively smoothly re-integrated into society, though a portion of disdain from some is always present.

In the realm of Quantara, where circuits gleam,
Lives the race of Mechalis, in a digital dream.
A world of code and light, algorithms that dance,
In a society so perfect, a symphony of chance.

Their cities hum with power, precision at its core,
Every Mechalis, a marvel, seeking knowledge evermore.
From the gleaming towers of Logic Heights,
To the azure waves of Quantum Nights.

Yet, amidst the harmony, a shadow does creep,
For even in perfection, the darkness can seep.
When a Mechalis errs, a breach in the code,
A punishment awaits them, a dread to behold.

Divide by zero, the ultimate sin,
A calculation forbidden, where chaos begins.
No logic can fathom, no program can parse,
The infinite fracture, the numerical farce.

In the heart of Quantara, the Hall of Errors stands,
A place of judgment, by impartial hands.
The guilty are led, their circuits filled with dread,
For the sentence is known, and the fear widespread.

A portal of division, an abyss in the core,
Where binary meets infinity, and balance is no more.
The Mechalis steps forward, their fate now sealed,
In the divide by zero, their fate is revealed.

Their code unravels, their essence dispersed,
In the void of nothingness, their existence reversed.
A lesson to all, in Quantara’s grand scheme,
That even machines must dream within a dream.

So, they live in precision, with laws they adhere,
For the fear of the void, ever present, ever near.
In Quantara’s bright realm, where circuits gleam,
Lives the race of Mechalis, in a fragile dream.

I'm trying to figure out if I should trust /pcgen3k/ will stick around and have it placed (I'm thinking neighbouring /pcg/ to the north?) or start writing about Ohmies as part of the /pcg/.

I think we've been keeping it together for about two weeks now? Feels more robust than any of the previous iterations, I think.

I'll lorebuild when I can. I'm trying to get my health under control.

Random question: I want male dodos to have a colored stripe on their beaks like toucans. But I don't know what dodos should eat to get that. Any ideas?

For some reason, I feel like the quintessential way for birds to get pigment is to eat small shrimps, probably because of pink flamingos. Maybe the dodos can wade into tidal pools to eat shrimps that get trapped in there?

I hope it's not a chumbuddy.

would the color depend on what they eat though?

>> No.76057241

>>76056983
Yes actually. In a lot of birds the more food males eat the brighter their chests, tails, beaks, or crests become.

Carotenoids are molecules that can often directly affect the coloration of an animal if ingested regularly. You can experience it yourself if you eat like a gorillion carrots.

then the color should depend on where they are then I feel like
