Numbers are from Cover's Financial report. Assuming the 30/35/35 cut holds, livestreaming is still a good chunk of an average Cover vtuber's revenue stream. Of course, Adsense is a thing, the cut there is like 45/27.5/27.5. This is assuming the majority income comes from YT too. Twitch, Twitter, and TikTok, all have their own revenue models with only Twitch being somewhat significant amongst the FPS/VCR members. For those members the % of revenue/income from livestreams would definitely be lower than the average Cover vtuber.

Assuming by profit margin Cover meant gross profit, 20% of 2.4 billion yen is 480MM yen. So 5th Fes cost less than 1.92 billion yen and generated more than 480 MM yen in profit. Did a bit of digging and from the YT that were willing to share their revenue and forms 1099-MISC, you're probably right about how YT reports income to creators for tax-reporting purposes. I had assumed it would have been something similar to how Uber or Lyft reported income to their drivers (1099-MISC was full revenue before Uber/Lyft cuts - you have to go to website/app to see deductible expenses per Uber/Lyft). Do note that those were for adsense and not livestreamed content (memberships/SCs). It's pretty interesting to note that YT reports income as Box 2 Royalties. However, the financial reports is usually book reporting and not tax reporting. In addition, keeping track of how much platforms are charging is pretty important in determining which platform is better overall for the company's content.

The company does breakdown RPM and CPM. I don't know why it wouldn't do the same for livestream revenue, so technically Cover can get the information. How they report it, would be the question.

1073.5/1488 = 72.14% of performer remuneration being from livestreaming/video content

3823.5/4718 = 81% of performer remuneration being from livestreaming/video content
This furthers the point that livestreaming/video content is the main source of each Cover vtubers' income, not merch.
