People may disagree, but Fauna changed quite a bit between debut and around 6 months in. She got way more comfortable streaming and found her niche. All respect to the saplings who preferred debut Fauna but to me it was a vast improvement.
That being said, after that period she hasn't really changed that much. She's gotten even more comfortable just being herself and better at the technical aspects, but her style hasn't gone through any major changes.

What I think is special about Fauna is how gentle she is, while still being very funny. For example, while there's nothing inherently wrong about swearing, it definitely sets a different tone. Fauna almost never badmouths anyone either. When I'm watching her, I feel safe. Certain other streamers can suddenly drop a "btw, fuck these people in particular" randomly and it can cause collateral damage or division in the chat. It might not seem important in the moment, but it adds up. Fauna neatly avoids all of that by focusing on the positives.

yeah i watched her around debut too, tho I was a pure sanalite at the time (until you know what happened) so I spent more time watching Sana and only caught Fauna during council collabs and a few solo asmr streams. I never realized just how witty, intelligent, professional and hard working she really was. Helps that watching her do gaming streams isnt mind numbingly frustrating too.
I honestly thought she was just a cute soft voice on a gorgeous model and never looked past all of that and I do regret that.

At debut I was uncommitted. I thought she was cute but that her audio setup sort of sucked and that she was very shy and introverted. Once she got more outspoken though, I was an instant fan and knew that she would only get more popular in time. A lot of people watched her debut, decided she was the "soft ASMR girl" and then never looked again before months or even years later. I'm glad she's getting the recognition she deserves.
Might sound like heresy, but I've been trying to watch a couple of other vtubers that are more in line with my timezone, but it's hard to measure up to Fauna. She's very good at what she does. I'd rather watch a Fauna vod than watch someone else live for the most part.

I was late to the party in general, and going back to the early vods is almost like watching someone else. I think Fauna explains it the best when rewatching her debut and being all like "who is that? that cute soft-spoken girl? what happened?". Fauna channeling more of her pure streamer side + getting more comfortable with her audience was a blessing.
