Considering the fact that a lot of JP indie games made today, and a ton of games made in teh last few decades would literally have messges on them, in english even, that said JAPAN ONLY, they don't want dirty gaijins fucking up with their whole scene. They refuse to learn how to keep up with new technologies even though they themselves are tech companies, and the heads of these companies honest to God DO think that watching someone play a game = a lost sale. Apex for example, are made by American devs and published by EA and American company, a place where they hand out perms like candy or will just straight up say "you can play any game we made full stop"
Look at the weird restrictions on Capcom games, not being allowed to show the English version, or not being allowed to show the ending of a game that came out LAST generation, or JRPG companies being fickle with them like Atlus. Maybe in 10 to 15 years when the CEOs die or retire, you will be allowed to watch your favorite chuuba play any Japanese games but as it stands now, dont hold your breath
