I also present the results of the /brg/ poll on the day 1 debuts, if anyone is interested.
There are 3 pretty clear favorites out of the 9 debuters, and some are pretty clear to be "voted off", if this were Survivor.
Notably Leobel, the lion brotuber, was shilled in the thread pre-debut but once he had a boring debut he was quickly forgotten and thrown to the wayside.
Poette sabotaged herself by forcibly inserting that she loves gender studies and "personally identifies as queer" and would talk about LGBTQ+ stuff in the future. As a result, she is dead to /vt/.
Clotho was the first to debut and seems to have been largely forgotten, giving a fairly forgettable but SOVLful couple of songs despite claiming to be a singer.
Enaria was also a highly-shilled one, but ended up torpedoing when she brought up that her kamioshi was Jurard from HolostarsEN, including his PL, and that she had met him once (this reporter thinks she meant IRL).

On April 27th, 2024, Hololive talents (Cover Corp., TYO: 5253 - +0.23%) took Melbourne by storm with their Dreamhack Concert. Breaking new ground for the world of virtual entertainment in the land down under, the show merged the realms of virtual and reality, captivating the audience of the annual Australian gaming event known as Dreamhack. - HoloEN Myth - Ms. Calliope Mori and - HoloEN Promise - Ms. Baelz Hakos were present to perform live, while Indonesian talents Ms. Ollie Kureiji and Ms. Reine Pavolia, plus Japanese talent Toyokami Towa-san participated with recorded performances. Also, looing at the "only half" claim, it seems pretty clear that they didn't sell tickets for the upper rung of seating. If you take those out of the equation, it looks like they sold almost 100% of seats (based on the pictures I've seen). I'm going to scrape through the photos of V_Rhap to try to get a head count for attendees, that'll be a fun addition. If you don't hear back from me, you know who got me.

For /#/ purposes, I will give Niji the benefit of the doubt and assume that there were 150 attendees. at $108 a ticket, that's $16,200, or $2,025 per talent (pre-cut, as the cut for live shows is not known). The tickets for DreamHack were $32 a pop, so taking 16200/32=~500, meaning that there would need to be more than 500 people at DreamHack for Holo to beat Niji--and note, of course, that there are only six Holo talents vs. 8 Niji livers. I think it's pretty clear that there were at least 2,000 people at DreamHack, as a very conservative estimate, so Hololive made at least four times as much money, not even considering the fact that the talents make more both on the cut and for the 6-vs-8 deal.

April 30th is the last day of Q4, and the last day of trading within that quarter. (The Market openings in less than 48 hours, so the 29th depending where you live.)

Finally in June we'll get Anycolor's Q4/Fiscal year report.

Vladivostok Anon here, let's talk about VRhapsody and Enna's 3D and close this Q4 chapter for now.

Enna's 3D for the most part was average for the most part compared to the 3 we've had so far. Worse than Petra, but slightly better than Rosemi and Millie (With her actually having less SC revenue than Millie.) Due to it's performance It's quite unlikely this will signal any growth for the company compared to 3Ds of Lazulight or even Petra. Overall this was at best a non-factor in any financial situations for the company in this amateur's opinion.

The main event however was Virtual Rhapsody in Singapore, A 2D Karaoke concert featuring 8 NijiEN Talents. The event for the most part has had rather mixed reviews, from the Meet & Greet conditions, stage production, and quite exorbitant prices for the kind of event it was. This coincides that they've also faced harsh comparisons between their competitor Cover's concert at Dreamhack Melbourne. Which was not only cheaper, but featured multiple branches and was in 3D rather than 2D.

As for the attendance, the female part of the performance was quite low based off photos and videos that I could find, though if we're trying to be optimistic some of the photos shown in >>74662211 could've been the pre-show. However it has been reported that the Boys side did have some more people attending. But overall it seems attendance has been subpar, though we can only just guess/estimate the amount of people. (I did see a video of what seems to be a 2 sections to have 4 rows of people from a moment when the boys were singing, though I'm still not confident on their exact numbers.) I will say however, it might've been a actual profit considering the lack of investment it seems.

For the sum of their parts, the two events seem to be at best be a non factor (Enna) or even highlight Anycolor's cheapness/seemingly lack of quality (Virtual Rhapsody). In fact the Yahoo JP board has taken note of the lack of attendance for the female part and someone even posted a comparison of Virtual Rhapsody and Dreamhack.

In conclusion, the financial impact of these events will be likely negligible.

From a outsider's perspective I just can't see why any female liver would wants to go there right now. The audience you'd want to attract all left when 3 of your top 6 female talents have up and left, with 1 being branded as a backstabber, and the other two being implicated with said backstabber (Though, to give those 2 some benefit. It never outright says they were the bullies.)
It's almost solely a male vtuber agency in all but name. The only time females are the headliners of a mixed gen were XSoleil with Kotoka and Meloco, one who's on a indefinite hiatus. Their Top 5 in subscribers now solely belong to Luxiem & Alban now that Selen is gone. Not to mention, that there are plenty of other 2nd/3rd tier agencies that are available and rising in popularity.
I fully expect them to go all in on male vtubers. It's still for the most part they're market to lose considering they're only real competition is Holostars who haven't really had momentum ever since they're fumbling of Vesper and Magni's departure.

The most retarded part is they're more or less forced to stream on the shitty alpha iOS only app, and nobody fucking uses it. Even the unofficial restreams were 2-3views while the app had like max 12 people.
So unless they hurry the fuck up and release it on Android and/or PC this week, it's DOA.
The only reason people watched their debuts at all is for the trainwreck (which delivered), and most of us watching were from /vt/.
So I give all of them 3-4 months MAXIMUM unless they give up on the app and tell them to just use YT/Twitch.

More of a rrat but I'm not even convinced they're getting paid for the debuts.

Pomu and Nina never recorded any footage for AR Live.
AR Live was recorded in September (boys) and October (girls), 2023. Nina had already graduated, and Pomu did not go to Japan with all of the other girls (she stayed home streaming) because she knew she was going to be gone before AR Live's premiere. (remember the all-girls off-collab she was noticeably absent from? it was because they were all in Japan together, while Pomu was home in the US)

Part of the reason that these vtubers cannot be considered "independent contractors" is BECAUSE of non-compete agreements. You can't give a contractor a non-compete in any country. Indeed, most vtuber contracts trying to claim that their talents are not employees wouldn't stand up to a challenge against that, as they exert far too much control over their talent's activities for them to be considered contractors. Whenever such efforts are made to pretend employees are contractors, it almost invariably fails review and employment labor laws end up being applied.

Calling your employee an "independent contractor" doesn't make it so, even if your contract reads "this shall not be an employment agreement." Jurisdiction declarations in contracts often fail for similar reasons. Most nations make it difficult, if not impossible, to throw away the labor protections they provide, regardless of what a contract may say.

I agree (and have in fact argued as much in catalog threads before), however it doesn't change that most people signing vtuber contracts are frankly uneducated younglings ill-prepared for the dangers of predatory contract wording. It's also why I stated that it wouldn't be a significant impact "on its own". Niji offered to pay Mika's taxes which they deduct from her pay every month. So she coasts by two years with this arrangement glad that she's not paying taxes out of her own wallet, until the local government slapped her with a notice on why she had not paid her taxes. When she contacted Niji about this, they replied that they weren't paying *her* taxes, they were paying *their own* taxes.

Expect it to stay at worst on minimal gain/loss for now, we're unlikely to see heavy losses like we saw in the beginning.
