Having Corp loyalty isn't necessarily a bad thing. The reason it exists is because they have built up a rapport with the fans. Cover for instance constantly turns out good vtubers and has a good reputation because it outwardly shows it gives a damn and has good PR with the fans. Its when the Loyalty is blind is when it is bad. Like alot of hololive fans act mightier than thou, attacking you if you watch a non-hololive vtuber, or say /vt/ is a Hololive only board. It's stupid. Look a Nijisanji. What good PR they had they eroded away over the last year with bad decision after bad decision, Vtuber after Vtuber fleeing for well over a year before they had the "Where's Selen" Incident. They have lost that trust with a huge chunk of that audience. Now all they have are the blissfully ignorant, and the blind fans that are the problem.

Yeah in a perfect world, everyone would have watched the Doggos and loved them before they joined hololive, but the problem is the exposure. Its not that people didn't want to watch them because they were not in hololive, but that they just didn't know they existed. Getting your name out their is the hardest part of being an indie. Once you can break that barrier you can actually see even bigger results than a corpo cause you don't have to share the revenue. But many struggle for years and never make it out of the abyss.

I agree with with you. It's all about the individuals behind the vtuber, but sadly some people just do not have the time or ability to dig though the unknown indies. It's the sad reality. Good luck supporting the indies. God speed.

So they were building up experience and a solid CV, before putting in a ton of effort to go through auditions and multiple rounds of interviews in order to be accepted into one of the top companies of the industry, that could actually promote them to a wider audience and make their talents and personality known? Literally, the only reason for this is due to themselves being in a big corpo. They both get profit and they both know there's some care from their fanbases still and want to respect that.
