Obviously you can't get healthcare coverage for a treatment that doctors don't think you actually need.
While it sounds niche, you'd be surprised how many people self-diagnose, obsess over a particular treatment and are then shocked when they learn they can't in fact tell medical professionals how to do their jobs.
