I haven't had vodka since I was in college. Back then it was my drink of choice and I would go way too fucking far as young people who recently gained access to alcohol often will, after one particularly bad night I was never able to touch it again without instantly feeling like I was going to puke. index fund is a stock that broadly samples the whole market. They reliably go up in value forever, as long as the whole economy doesn't collapse (and if it does, everyone is in trouble, not just you). They won't make MAD STONKS bitcoin returns, but they are extremely, extremely safe all things considered, and follow the value of the entire market. One company going out of business won't hurt the fund.

Lots of investment companies exist (they're not scams, they're trustworthy and reliable overall) and basically you just give them money and they put it in a long-term safe fund.

bit late to the stream but index funds are the way to go. active management of properties and speculative investments require tons of management and have huge risks (bad tenants and so on)
you should NOT use a financial planner. it's not about them investing in themselves, it's because you only expect a certain % increase in value each year, and they charge like 100x more than an index fund or etf to manage the money, so you erase a lot of your gains
you SHOULD invest no matter what the economic situation is if you have the money, market downturns are the most optimal time to put your money in, and you capture them by always putting away your savings no matter what the market looks like
always put money in, don't touch it when the market goes down, and you will have enough to comfortably live on later in life

The thing about real estate investing is that it takes much more time and maintenance compared with throwing your money in an index fund. It would be difficult to manage with your stream unless you hire a management company. You really don't want to get a call from your tenant at 6pm complaining their toilet is flooding.

I know we're kinda done with the finance stuff, but something else that's super easy to do and has basically no risk or interaction is getting good cash-back credit card and making all your purchases with it. I have a credit card that gives me 2% cash back on basically everything. It's not a lot, but every little bit counts.

It really is a very entertaining game. I say this with an emphasis on that RPGs often are about the journey and like enjoying seeing where it goes, the story arc, setups and payoffs, that kind of thing, but Planescape Torment is just packed with sights and characters and their little stories that are interesting and entertaining by themselves.
