Hakka one day brings home a scrawny guy from school, he is a new kid in town and he is a bit shy but very blunt when he speaks and very silly with people he likes, a real class clown at heart who always wants to make people laugh even if they laugh at him
Shinri takes a liking to the guy named Gavis and doesn't mind him coming over almost daily, always listening to rock and metal music with Hakka, often singing and dancing, pretending to be in a band
Recently Shinri had to stay at work longer so he comes home later and is surprised when Bettel is still there well into the evening some days
It is only when he comes home early again one day when he told Hakka he would stay late (his boss wanted to be nice and let him go home sooner) that he hears muffled sounds from his son's room, no music playing this time
He expected quite literally everything except what was really going on
Walking up to Hakka's room he found the door slightly open and tried to get a good look without drawing attention to himself and has to physically hold himself back at whathe is seeing
Bettel, naked on Hakka's bed crying and wheezing, his body covered in scars and fresh wounds and moaning when Hakka puts an alcohol pad near them

The pale boy doesn't even answer, he just holds himself and scrunches his face, clearly too exhausted to speak
Once Bettel sits up on the bed, his back facing Shinri, the ronin makes a loud, audible gasp at what looks to be burn morks and even more lacerations
Not enough that Shinri in his shock knocked over one of the vases in the hallway, he also drew their attention towards himself, Bettel scurrying to hide his body and his wounds, berating himelf for not covering them in front of Hakka's dad, the exorcist himself comes running towards Shinri, pushing him away and locking the room from further spying
The two inside ignore his knocking and Shinri, in disbelief of humans doing things like this, sinks to the ground, blaming himself for not knowing sooner and getting help for Bettel

The thing is that it only got that bad right at the end, and that was probably because he got busy with his con appearances. Before the summer he almost never cancelled or moved streams, he even acknowledged that people plan their days around streams so he wouldn't cancel for light reasons. He took one break for twitch con and after that he never took another one that was longer than three days until that summer, and he was as transparent as he could be about those too, like the new model one and copium even if it sucked. Sure he said he was going to meet family but he really couldn't say that he was going to a con. Idk I think that is a pretty good track record for a year

i dont watch his menshi because im not in it for bfe and always see roon reviews that he's so sweet and wholesome and asmr in there, maybe try banking up a bunch of them to filter in between his public streams? he does play the relationship card, but i feel like its jumped the shark from yandere-funny-abusive to just performing actual abusive relationship tropes with little to no aftercare for the past while.
