Go to /lig/ and try to find someone discussing an indie that's streaming on YouTube who isn't Doki or Mint. At most a few big indies will simulcast to YouTube for some extra viewers. Most indie fans hate watching YouTube streams.

>> No.73455076

>>73454310
You can browse currently live streams by category and you don't have to scroll far at certain times under the vtuber tag to see 2views. Whereas with YouTube any small streamer is pretty much completely at the mercy of the algorithm.
There are also a lot of extra elements on twitch to facilitate interaction with chat beyond just donations and polls - which is a great way of driving engagement for small indies.
I'm no fan of twitch as a viewer and prefer YouTube but it really does seem twitch is better for the person actually streamer.

>> No.73455590

>>73455351
Like I said, as a viewer I prefer YouTube (particularly because I fucking hate all the TTS and noises that often come with twitch channels - though they don't always) but I was explaining why do many tiny indies are on twitch - and it's true. They're not just choosing twitch because they prefer Amazon to Google like some kind of weird console wars thing.

YT algo is absolute dogshit, twitch at least gives them a bit of a chance. Indies go to YT to die, that's just how it is.

That, and most streamers hate using youtube, that's why most indies don't, other than former corpos that get stockholm'd into liking it.

And they stay 2view and 0view forever, yes.

>> No.73456311

Why are you guys so retarded with the platform tribalism?
>youtube for archives and deadsubs shorts spam to scam advertisers for sponsorship deals
>twitch for livestreaming and chat interaction / no need to edit, cut, create thumbnails, etc.
>simulcast even
Every indie should leverage both because sticking to one is a path to failure. Neither platform is giving out exclusivity deals anymore. It's not 2020 retards.

perfect, easier to groom

>> No.73456556

>>73456333
If that's what you want, sure, but the question was why so many indies choose twitch over youtube. Most indies get discouraged staying that small and quit, or they move to another platform where they have a slightly bigger chance to be seen. Posters like you keep saying you'll groom them but none of you actually do.

You can actually filter by viewcount and get 100% vtubers at a glance. And it's better than YT because you won't get flooded with dogshit 24/7 AI vtuber channels.

Nigga you want Twitch to implement time travel? You want to go into the future to parts of the stream that haven't happened yet? Otherwise Twitch vods do have a fast forward feature.

I don't watch vtwitchers. I watch vtubers. Simple as.
If they're good enough they'll get promoted to vtubing. If not they'll remain a pitiful vtwitcher. Not my problem.

You can do that on Twitch though. Navigate to videos and recent broadcasts on the streamer's channel and there's a vod of the stream they're currently streaming. You can even watch it in 2x speed.

>> No.73472458 [DELETED]

>>73470998
i meant when the stream is happening live, you can't just roll back to 20 seconds ago to re-hear what they just said for example, you gotta wait till the vod is uploaded if it even does get uploaded, there isn't a nice playback when the stream is running, youtube has that and it's great (unless they turn it off for some reason like all the holos do)

>> No.73472516
