- sister is appealed that a music label, is music only focused when it comes to content. This would make even a monkey cringe at the pure stupidity of this statement.
- There was no favoritism. The label was made for AZKI. Suisei was never in their plans, so they never had the resources or time for a second member. Cover just sent her there, because they wanted her, but she insisted to keep her model and name, so that was the only option.
- AZKI wasn't in Hololive until 2 years ago, she was a separate project, so of course she was not for Hologra.
There was never anything toxic about this, stop smelling your own farts... 'more toxic than NijiEN'... what a joke... It was a music label, they managed AZKI, it had limited success, so it came to an end and AZKI was moved to Hololive. Nothing more, nothing less.

Largely agree, but the frog wasn't bad at getting things to happen nor out of depth at managing a talent, as shown by the fact he's now at Kamistubaki studios managing Koko and Harusaruhi, but there was both a clear lack of staff to do anything for Suisei and he was out of his depth trying to pivot to the Holo streaming model when COVID killed off in-person Lives which was INNK's business model and main focus. Reminder that AZKi had 8 solo Lives before joining Holo proper, with the first 5(?) of them being in person events with a live audience, as well as being a guest at a whole bunch of vsinger events like Stage Out. While I personally couldn't be happier to AZKi incline like she has, the problems she had at INNK weren't due to a lack of effort or results, it's a fundamental mismatch between the Holo brand and INNK's focus.

Yes, INNK was a joint venture between upd8 and Cover, that's why it was only after upd8 finally went under that Cover got AZkI's full rights and was able to transfer her to Hololive.
It terrifies me to think that if upd8's corpse lasted 1 more year AZkI wouldn't have had her geoguesser arc and incline in time and would have graduated with the release of The Last Frontier like she initially planned.

Inonaka was always owned by Cover since it started when they scooped up Suisei who was never affiliated with upd8 in any way.
AZKi was a standalone vtuber by Cover much like Miko but joined upd8's "project" whatever that means. The upd8 thing was completely separate from Inonaka.

hopefully someone with better memory can fill-in the gaps but this is how I remember the history
the virtual diva project was originally an indie project between the frog and azki in similar fashion to how robocosan and hakase started. they were scouted by cover before debut. the original goal was just to release an original song every month until they finish a full album by the end of 2019 and hold live shows.
upd8 at the time had "virtual talent support project" which basically operate like how a mcn work. you can look at ntv/vclan's c+ network for something similar in the current era. you sign up to it (and pay i presume) to get access to other artists in the network and get included in large vtuber events organized by upd8. this make sense at the time since the kizuna ai name brought in a lot of music talents under upd8. they were not joint-venture, just part of the network.
somewhere during 2019, the frog and azki started innk as music label to publish original songs by other hololive vtubers (except sora. she was already signed with victor by then). it was officially annouced as it's own division/sub-company when suisei joined iirc. might be around the time the idol project was started officially. much of the original function of innk was moved to the idol project's music department. i don't think suisei was ever part of the upd8 network.
the frog and azki had a clear vision of what the virtual diva project is going to be. they had story arc through the songs they created (at least the first 2 albums). they were following what kamitsubaki was doing with kaf's music. that's why there was a definite end to the story that was planned for the 8th live.
they clearly don't have the same thing for suisei at the time. she was added to innk because she wanted to keep her character. given the direction they were going at the time (to be a music label), it made sense to put her in innk. problem was, they didn't have a dedicated director for suisei to work with and the frog had enough on his hands dealing with just the virtual diva project.
