What's stopping a particularly reviled vtuber from wiping the slate clean and starting over?

I know "reincarnations" are common, but in those cases, vtubers deliberately leave enough connections to funnel their old fanbase to their new account. What I'm thinking of is when a vtuber is so universally hated that they know they will never be accepted into polite society ever again. That no vtuber fan will give them the time of day, and normies who start off watching them will learn of their past misdeeds the moment they engage with the wider vtuber fanbase.
The thing about the vtuber medium is that if you're smart about hiding your face and your RL identity, you can reincarnate as many times as you like and no one will be none the wiser. Change your style. Play a different genre of game. You don't even have to change your voice, as you can wave off any similarities as coincidental. Be willing to deny any connection to your past life - don't just go "I don't know what you're talking about, never heard of that person", actually take it seriously: "I've heard of that vtuber and how horrible they are, I don't want to even be compared to that person".

Even with the issue of getting recognised aside, the main reason for many chuubas being disliked is them being insufferable bitches who are unwilling to change. Hell, they usually do the opposite of what you're proposing and funnel their fans to the private account before corpo graduation

the truth tends to come out eventually. You have to keep lying to make more lies to cover up the lies you already told, and it's very difficult to keep all of that together. The real problem is that by definition, success as a vtuber tends to be audience growth, and the bigger your audience, the more likely someone will recognize you.
The absolute best case scenario if you want to still go big is to change languages. The language barrier can completely eliminate most rrats (just look at how Reimu's is completely ignored because it all happened in Spanish), but even that is a ticking time bomb.

As long as you didn't do anything serious like murder or rape, though, you should be fine with a long enough stretch of good behavior. Sayu became public enemy #1 for a while, and she managed to claw her way back to vindication, but if you ACTUALLY did nasty shit, that might take longer than just a year to prove you've truly changed.
