Honestly the writers are the only half-decent thing about the gacha, bad writers is what kills gacha because 99% of the gameplay is shit pandered to you spending money and time to them.
That's why JP gacha tend to survive years, they just focus on the story aspect knowing that is what makes people stay. Trust me, no one plays gacha for the game, balance is usually a fucking mess.
