I've seen some big indies graduated recently. definitely not a sign of en4 or whatever english branch they decide to debut this year, right?

Maybe not this year. They usually do at least one year of group training before debuting for Hololive.

not really
we'll find out soon but en4 and id4 seem to be delayed so cover can do some other dumb shit we'll all hate
idol is debuting about fifteen girls this year (huge mistake in their current depressed state)

Cover USA is a sign they will be investing more heavily into the EN market so their will definitely be an EN4 in 2024 and EN5 in 2025. Hololive wouldn't spent that much on opening a subsidiary unless they were already planning on yearly gens which is what they did with the JP branch.

We haven't gotten a new JP branch in like three years. Their USA studio is just to organize events there more easily, and avoid months of shipping for the merch.

Idol Corp and Vshojo don't ship from Japan and neither of them have managed to ship a single thing to me in almost a year and 3-4 months past when they said shipping would be. At least Hololive manage to ship on time. Shipping taking forever isn't really just a location thing, companies in the USA and elsewhere have even more problems shipping a few bits of plastic and some plushies.

Luck is literally the biggest factor, doesnt matter how fun or talented you are.
I watch a youtuber whose big first "milestone" was buying a gourmet burger,he was really happy about it because he literally spent a year streaming to three people.
Cover has a good idea of what people want, so they can cast a wide net and filter it until they get something good, which is good because it prevents the problem of

Define how "big", but still if i were big enough to go streaming full time i wouldn't leave it - having full control over the content is powerful these days. Unless they don't want to do the heavylifting themselves...

Nope, most of them are not joining companies.

The bubble has popped, it's more profitable to work at McDonalds than being a 3 view streamer nowadays. I've been a 2-3 view for many years and the past 6 months have been brutal, many vtubers' income got cut in half or more. It was easy for it to be a full time job even if you were smaller but not anymore.

Back during covid it was very easy to make it, but now everyone is fighting over scraps, burned out and lost.

>> No.71386281

Lmao, according to SullyGnome getting that kind of number makes you top 0.5% something something streamer on twitch btw.

>> No.71386462

>>71364491
I think the scenario at the moment is such that if a high 3view/4view indie graduates and is not just quitting vtubing altogether (which is also a possibility) it is very likely they are going holo.
Niji shat the bed with the contract leak and you don't need to give up your character to join Vshojo. There are no other players big enough to justify graduating over just staying indie and not losing your cut.
Maybe some other big player will come in the future or niji will unshit itself but both seem ways off.

>> No.71386550

>>71386281
Yes. Despite many streamers having similar numbers of views compared to some years ago, the donations and revenue given by twitch has become abysmal. Not to mention being in the middle of an unofficial recession, people cannot afford to support vtubers like before.

of all the grad announcements ive seen that would apply to this,
none have said "this isnt working out for me finacially anymore"

>>71386462
>>71387990
Also, before you ask "but what about 2views?", at least for me, and taking luck out of the equation, 2-3view is the minimum barrier to pass.
Maybe there's a good 2view candidate who can't take it seriously due to reasons, but they'd have to prove their dedication, because if you've been a 2view for more than one year, then either
>there are reasons you can't dedicate enough time for you to grow, as stated before
>you're simply not made for it
>you're a terminally online freak
No exceptions, and the last two are a very big majority. Even a history professor managed to break into mid-3view before a year passed after debut.

>> No.71389193

Cover slowed down after releasing 6 JP gens with over 30 Hololive talents. They have been cautious with HoloEN but that is almost certainly going to change after their decision to launch Cover USA. They want to increase the amount of EN merch and releasing more gens helps with that while also bringing in new fans.
