The subconscious controls everything and will manifest miracles if it believes it to be normal.

There is an interesting parallel to the power of conditions with how it was portrayed in Hunter x Hunter.
By making conditions you can wield greater than normal power, but if you misuse it you will self destruct and have a burnout.

The last things you do before going to sleep and your mindset thoughts at that moment will manifest into your reality.

They key for this to work is to believe in it.
The reason it doesn't seem to work for many is that they have a big amount of garbage negative memories in their subconscious and it conflicts with their "identity".
You manifest who you are being and believe to be.

That's why it's so important to release all the negative energy accumulated through life because it will block positivity and attract negativity instead.

I would say the moment Kiritsugu felt glad that he at least saved one person (Shirou), he already redeemed himself for the sins of unrealistic idealism of justice, having paid the price of losing everything he loved.

Kirei is just a non-human in essence. Born with a desire to do evil, but unlike mindless beasts he has a higher persona that wants to know if it's ok for something like him to live on this world, wanting evil and being evil. I am not sure Kiritsugu redeemed himself.
He would have to give up on his past belief and repair the damage he has done first.
Instead he kept trying to grasp it and deny reality to the very end.
He refused the truth of the holy grail and tried to destroy it instead of accepting it causing the massive destruction of the city and Shirou's traumatic experience.

He used saving Shirou as an excuse to avoid facing the truth of his actions to the end to keep believing he saved someone in the end.

Had this happened in reality his spirit would feel a lot of regret over his actions and have to plan a future reincarnation to face the same story and beliefs again with a different angle to finally change his beliefs, and while doing this indirectly help all those he previously killed to give them reparation.

Kirei desired to understand human emotions lacking the understanding of his own source. That's why Gilgamesh was interested in him.
But from a spiritual perspective causing massive destruction is a gift that enables personal development with the right intent, on the condition that he doesn't kill everyone in the process.
He was just infected by evil in his childhood and had his heart closed off to light.
Those were not the actions of a psychopath for a psychopath only desires power to reduce the emotion of slight fear they feel.

It was certainly a memorable and defining story for many.
For me the clash between Archer and Shirou in UBW was meaningful in addition to Saber's choice to accept the end of her kingdom.
Your ideals may betray you, but if you can keep going down that path for a bit longer you will get to see a different ending.

You don't see often these clash of values in modern stories.
Is it because the newer generations don't like to think and have attention deficit problems because of smartphone abuse?
