Its simple.
1) Don't engage with schizos. It doesn't take a scholar to know when somebody is baiting to cause trouble and it doesn't take 30 people replying to a single schizo to kill him to shut up and move on. It doesn't take one poindexter arguing for 300 posts with that bad faith schizo to mark the archive record and make it obvious to tourists that its a schizopost.
2) Make OC. If you're a viewer, do supportive things you like for chuubas. If you're a chuuba, post things you're working on or things you'd like to do. Ask how to do things you want to do but don't know how to make happen. I know that I and several others have offered similar advice for that.
3) Stop taking obvious schizo posts/bad faith "tier lists" etc seriously. There's no reason your mental should be harmed by some anon calling you a faggot because that anon is literally nobody. That's not an "I'm a creator and they're not so I'm better." thing, its an "I'm an anon and they're an anon and anon is nobody." thing. I don't care what anon has to say if all anon has to say is calling me names like a school yard child and you shouldn't care either.
4) Talk about things you saw on other channels/streams/content streams that you like and want to make or want to see more of.
5) Discuss things that affect vtubing and affect vtubers specifically. There are no other threads here for discussing specifically how new events affect vtubers just how they affect viewers, corporations and the specific vtuber at the epicenter of that event.

There are millions of things that can be discussed or done that aren't bickering with schizos or baitposting and none of them require yielding the thread to schizos and retreating to one of the dozens of discords. Drown out the garbage and don't encourage more of it by replying to it or engaging with it. Be the change the thread needs.

If you're 100% allergic to hourly ad breaks (you should be getting up and moving around at least once an hour anyway) then you can use external BTTV plugins for emotes and just make a popup that tells people in chat which BTTV emotes you have uploaded and enabled.

Otherwise, affiliate gives you access to on-site emotes (which subs can take with them between channels during raids or whatever) and channel points that viewers can use for redeems or gamble on channel challenges.

ASMR (at least audio ASMR because there is visual ASMR) comes in a spectrum from pure voice to pure soundscape. Pure voice would be just a voice. Pure soundscape would be no voice just sounds like tapping, crinkling, water in a bottle, etc. In my opinion, the sweet spot is in between the two in a roleplay scenario. You play through a scenario moving from sound trigger to sound trigger whilst staying in character.

But that's my personal preference and honestly, it's difficult to do that regularly and live at the same time because it either requires you a script writing/reading god or you are an improv god. Most vtuber ASMR involves sound triggers and just very softly chatting usually being a bit more affectionate than they otherwise would be, people also like to use redeems so that viewers can request specific triggers.

Collabs actually start helping at around your size. Don't bother with large group collabs. Do one on ones. Collabs with non-aspies get you a lot more than collabs with aspies. Try to get people bigger than you to collab with.

Try to hype up special streams. Always have something big every week or two that you are hyping up to your viewers. (It doesn't even have to be that big, just hype it up as an event) If done right you can seriously increase viewership on those days which can often turn into momentum on non-event days.

Increase your production quality. Get a good chat widget. Get on-brand notifications. Get good overlays. Polish your sound. Get better music if you play music. Some people are very sensitive to this kind of stuff and will immediately click away if they think you are low effort.

I do feel strongly that vtubing is on its way out. More and more chuubas sprout up every day, but not enough viewers to cover the bases. I've read many posts from people who seem like they've woken up from some state of delerium, wondering why they ever liked vtubers in the first place. It feels like Nijisanji has burned such a large portion of their goodwill in the EN sphere that they won't recover from it and there's no benefit to applying for them. Viewership was already low by corpo standards for most of their ENs. I feel like Hololive, Phase Connect and VShojo are the only ones that will remain in the end. Small corpos have been shutting down with alarming frequency lately. Prism Project closing feels like a big tell. So to answer your question...are we doomed? Yeah, probably. Can we enjoy it while we've got it? Yeah, we can. Plan ahead though.

Make sure you look up nail glove tutorials and that you’re comfortable doing things with long nails on, nail gloves might impede your handcam activities. Also don’t use the glue that comes with press ons to make nail gloves, you’ll need a good glue to really affix them (I use E6000 craft adhesive.) If you chose to just wear plain gloves I doubt viewers will think your hands look uncanny.
