If you have lactose intolerance you can take a pill called lactaid before you eat to nullify most of the effects. My niece has taken it since she was young and eats dairy and has no problem with it.

It's not that big an issue, I have to eat a decent amount of dairy products to affect me. Just limit the amount eaten and all's good. Milk and cake fuck me up in small portions though so I've stopped with those completely.
