don't you think the debut stream template is getting really fucking stale?

>> No.70534447

My oshi choked and punched herself in the stomach for her debut. What has yours done?

my oshi debuted to 6 people in 2018 and is now one of the biggest vtubers in holo

yes, they're terrible.
and debut 2.0s are just as bad usually. sometimes they're just an extension of the debut in all the same stale useless ways, sometimes they're just a buncha stuff retardedly placed time constraints made them cut from debuts(and yet never even the same stuff in the same corpo and gen), and sometimes they just go over their debut slides again.

only reason to watch them is to see if you'll at least be able to tolerate the voice, model, and rigging, but you only need like 5-10 minutes to figure that out.

>> No.70535957

debut format is.
these girls put out all this loreshit and then immediately breaking their kayfabe. like whats the point then?
i hate the powerpoints too. favourite anime? you'll never mention them ever again

>> No.70536439

>>70535957
agreed, especially on the lore part.
so much time and effort wasted on shit 99% of vtubers never bring up again.
least the anime and other nonsense might give you a SLIGHT insight into their personality, even if its a terrible way to do so.

>favourite anime? you'll never mention them ever again
it's to give chat something to talk about with the streamer or at least hint at the direction the discussions or streams will take
If you can't figure this out, you might genuinely be autistic

>> No.70536692

>>70536479
nta, but while i agree with the point, they often so clearly cobbled together a list just because 'a debut needs an anime list' that it ends up still giving you 0 info on what you're actually getting.

>> No.70537575

>>70535957
I agree, but what else should you put in there? Favourite games and anime are just shit lists to have in general, I loved X anime, but I don't love it enough to talk about those 30 episodes for years or thinking about it a lot. I'd rather know it from a random stream, when someone mentions it and you will have random discussion about it, while grinding some shitty game like Minecraft.
What is there that you can say about yourself that will persist throughout your streaming career.
It feels like the best way to do it is to have goals, some debut surprise/present and just talk with your viewers.

I'm not married to the format, but it works reasonably well as an introduction. I don't really think it's worn out its welcome

>saw a 2 hag view once (2022) who debuted and was totally 100 percent into the kayfabe
>they were a witch with a very pristine english accent and was interacting extremely well with chat
>had elaborate lore of why she was here, would ask very basic tech questions
>week after week of banger streams, even did a thing where she cast a spell on you and made you type the words to join in the chant
>was even going to mail wooden talismans she made to people
>final stream was meant to be a stream where she made a bunch of different teas with flowers and nuts from the local forest
>stream never went live
>account is still there today with 80 subscribers
i just hope she's ok bros.

Welp, the headline is easy enough to imagine
>childless hag found dead in house, lips eaten by starving cat after mistaking deathcap/deadlynightshade for a harmless mushroom/berry
>the cat also died because of toxin residue on lips

May this be a lesson in food safety and cross contamination in general. You could find similiar, less toxic ingredients and brew a cup for her, maybe post it on her tag or something.

I know everybody hates them but holostars EN genuinely had some of the best debuts, Specifically Vanguard, Bettel's skits were great, Flayon's mech was good, Hakka's dora the explorer rip off was hilarious, (also being beaten with a chanla by yagoo), and shinri's was... well it was the weakest of the four but he tried, Those were all fairly unique i'd say

>> No.70541737

>>70534386
I feel like debuts should have some kind of gameplay at the end that shows off something very quick.
Like Ushio Ebi's debut was 40 minutes of intro followed by a 40 minute Portal speedrun https://youtu.be/jhqbCv9qv1c?t=2616
Do something like that or maybe show some pro FPS or rhythm game gameplay or play the guitar or something.
It's an intro so you wanna tell people what your channel and stuff is about sure but you also wanna actually introduce your skills to people.

ReGloss kind of had that with kanade trolling with the flute, and Ririka doing her death game thing, And raden's.... well she certainly had the most unique debut of any holo member ever (can't wait for her 1 year anniversary watchalong, shame she got rid of the mask)

I'm glad its at least getting shorter, 30-45 minutes is about as long as it needs to be as an introduction. I do think it's helpful for filtering at the beginning.
It is stale though, and I usually skip it or leave if there's any reason why I'm not interested.

They're fine, but some people have nothing to share and a debut doesn't fix that. Just like slapping down $2k on a model doesn't get you a personality or even one spark of creativity.
