for me what helped was recognizing that 99% of this board is tribalist brain poison and just watching who I think is entertaining rather than not allowing myself to enjoy anyone without the blue dorito of approval. leaving /vt/ would probably help, at least for a few weeks. thought I was going to quit vtubers entirely but turns out they're actually still quite fun to watch, for better or for worse

Ever since the nijisanji shitfest some weeks ago it felt everything just got too real. Feels like barely anyone tries to stay in character these days. I enjoyed the kayfabe more than I wish to admit. And yeah, I know there are plenty that still keep up the acting, specially in the JP side, but the Selen/Doki event kind bled out into my perception of vtubers and everything just feels at least a little bit more fake than before to the point it became somewhat uncomfortable.
