Ok it's time for me to speak up about this. I think Doki is making choices that are self-destructive to her career as a whole, believing her popularity is an infinite well.

She has to be serious about her career because the indie world is tough. You're exposed to the elements with no buffer between you and the harsh rain. It's wild how many more friends she has at Cover compared to Anycolor, considering how they're seen as direct competitors. Granted I know Anycolor was the only one being guarded about the crossover collabs and whatever friends she has at NijiEN (if any) can't speak up about her. It's fucking hard to grow from a 0 viewer nobody to the level of success that someone like Shylily is at, and is honestly more luck than anything else. Yeah that's a different kind of problem, it's entertainment, and even in entertainment it's a new industry. That means there's plenty of people who are naive and don't really know how to get a good contract, and even those that do are stuck in the same rut because they're easily passed over in favor of those who won't backtalk so much. It's like the "passion tax" if you work in the games industry, you're easily replaceable by tons of people who are willing to be abused.
Even with that unfortunate reality though, going corp has a big benefit. Yeah you're only making like 16% of the total revenue you're generating, but 16% of 1million USD is still much bigger than 100% of 50k

AFAIK Anycolor is just an exception, despite their large size they only give 2% of the merch profits to the talents. That said, at least for the EN scene at least, corps based in Japan that aren't Hololive will probably go out of vogue soon. The sheer amount of legal red tape that you have to go through as an English speaking talent without the guarantee of support just isn't really worth it. At least if you're in Anycolor where the branch's popularity is declining and you have to compete against other talents for resources/money/fame, its just not worth it in this case. But oddly enough you get smaller companies like V4Mirai who are still willing to fork out 3D models for their EN talents so who knows.

But I feel like a lot of people who don't have much experience studying or working in the media industry significantly underestimate the sheer importance of branding. Its impact is colossal. When you sign on to an agency, the thing you're receiving is support and pre-existing infrastructure, as well as the brand name of the org. Smaller agencies only offer the support infrastructure, but the large ones like Holo and Niji can let you coast by on brand name for a certain point.

It's like franchising Mcdonalds. If you open Anon's Furger and Snurger joint in a small town, you'll get a core audience but it's difficult to explode with popularity. If you contact your local Mcdonalds embassy and start up a franchise in the same spot, travelers driving past will always hit you up because they know it's a Mcdonalds. You then have to deal with the frustration of running a Mcdonalds, but it's the same concept in the end. You receive more than you would have before. WAY more, in cases, at the cost of no longer being able to run your burger joint however the fuck you please.
