Bae's mindcraft cover has the hololive English hashtag in the description, meanwhile her hide and seek original doesn't, but has the hololive hashtag. And then her korone original has the hololive English hashtag. The mindcraft cover is nearly at 1m, and the Korone song is close to 900k, while hide and seek is only 280k. This could be attributed to the quality of the songs, definitely but there's something in it.

Most of the male livers I mentioned have an equal split of male and female audiences that's been established. Thanks to the rise of Japanese streamers, Hololive, and other female VTuber groups like VSPO, the male audience has even more choices, and thus more competition.
Lauren is still one relatively successful male chuuba with a split audience, which stems mostly from his design + gaming skills, so it once again shows that there's still a DEMAND for it. It's just in extremely short supply.
