Not wanting to drift into /pol/ territory so I will avoid talking about parties, but you did have the first monthly budget surplus in the last 12 years now that the government is shrinking to more reasonable levels. That's pretty good.

I do understand why you feel like that, because for decades (at least since the 80's from what I remember) you were given everything by the government. The government subsidized food, utilities, fuel, and so on, and all of that was taken away at once. I'd be pretty pissed, too. But it was never a sustainable model, and just like when you had to unpeg the ARS from the USD, the heavy subsidizing model was reaching critical levels. I suspect he only reason it worked for so long was because holy shit, Argentina is so awfully rich in resources, everyone in government was getting their cut of the cake, at your expense, and the country was still able to work. I am convinced most other countries would have completely failed at half those levels of corruption.

I really love visiting Argentina and while I won't deny I also loved very much how cheap everything was the last few years, it was also saddening to see how both small and large businesses had such a hard time achieving anything because everything was red tape and money under the table.
I hope next time I get to visit you guys are doing better, and I hope you understand that what you are going through is a hard transformation, but a very needed one if Argentina is to ever become a successful country again.
