I only watch Holos and indies now. For Holos, personality and sense of humor are 100% the most important things. For indies, personality still comes out on top, but game choices are also very important. So there:
1) Overall personality (Stronger / more compassionate ideal)
2) Sense of humor (A little edge is alright but I like creative dorks most, especially ones that can put on a smug front but crumble under pressure)
3) Game choices (I'm a big retro-head but I like more niche fare like indies and VNs, though I'll absoloutely watch a chuuba I like play the blandest most FOTM crap if she meets 1 and 2 above).

Considering my oshi is Polka and my second favourite is Suisei, I've deduced the three factors:
1. Love for the vtuber industry and motivation to be a part of it (i.e. Polka not giving up after PL, Suisei's journey to hololive)
2. Larger than life personalities (pretty self-explanatory)
3. Genuine friendships (one of the things I love about vtubing are group dynamics, and seeing something like Polka and Flare or Towa and Sui becoming good friends as time passes makes me feel warm inside)

1. Sense of humor/personality above all. For example, if I'm trying out watching a new chuuba and they tell a joke I think is super lame or in poor taste that's already enough to make me close the stream. It's pretty obvious but I'm not going to watch someone if I don't find them entertaining.
2. Nice voice. I don't like high-pitched, nasally voices. I can tolerate them if I like their personality but they're never going to be a frequent watch.
3. Game choice. I'll only check out new chuubas if they're playing a game I like. Once it's been established that I like their personality, that's when I might start watching their other streams, even if it's a game I don't like or don't know.

I personally don't really give a shit about this as long as it isn't a frequent feature. There are male chuubas and streamers that collab with chuubas that I think are tolerable, but the ones in the ENsphere that do particularly frequent collabs end up either getting up sucked into anituber / dramatuber hell, or end up in NijiEN, which is a thousand times worse.
