Honestly, yes. I pretty much only watched Pikamee and Coco stuff (with some Mel CB stuff on the side) and while Kson wasn't as fun as Coco, her collabs with Pikamee were amazing. There's 2 ways to look at it really. In terms of CCV Silvervale was always mid-low for VShojo. Nyanners used to be #1, then she shared #1 with Mouse, but over time she's just continued to fall and has currently settled around the 2k range. Which is still very good for an indie, but would have put her in the bottom of VShojo if she was still in it at that range. Nazuna was also never huge for VShojo but pulled a respectable ~2k whenever she'd go live and Vei was the big loss since she used to rival Mouse's numbers.

But since VShojo makes money almost exclusively via merch ironically Vei was one of the worst performers of the group in that regard, and Nyan was by far the biggest loss because she pushed merch like a motherfucker while Silver and Nazuna were both mid-tier losses.

Henya and Matara aren't as powerful as Nyanners and Vei at their peaks, but they're not far behind mouse either. Matara's actually pulling more numbers than Henya, which surprised me. Both Kuro and Matara are doubling their nijisanji numbers. If Doki pulls off a similar feat she'll be one of the biggest indies, and I think the biggest indie on Youtube.

Aside from numberfagging, I don't think these strong personalities can 'replace' each other anyway. Each one brings a unique spin to the content or else they wouldn't have been popular on their own. I personally think the old crew was more toxic and had a greater chance of crashing the entire company than the new crew does. The old crew had some big egos in addition to their big numbers.

VSJ's weakness will forever be their inability to scout or discover talent. Holo is extremely good at it, they frequently take risks on people with little to no audience, sub 100 viewer types.

Niji does it as well but they're not as good at scouting so they water down their selection with dozens of forgettable people, they get winners but you can't guarentee each gen will have even one hit.

Froot is the only person in VSJ who had little to no audience. All of their "unique" talents like Henya, Matara, Hime etc brought viewers and fans from outside their character. IMO Vsj feels like a management group but not much else, nothing really separates them from influencer groups like mythic. I hope they can flex their ability to create a fresh talent from nothing some day soon like they mostly did with Froot.

I think it’s bit disappointing desu. Vshojo has a more unique approach that doesn’t fall into the same kayfabe problems for hiring as other corpos but they kinda fail to utilize it. Their strategy isn't to take over the industry, but just to do best by their talents. Expansion isn't really a priority. You could say they're still building a foundation by grabbing existing successes.

In theory I like Vshojo as a pseudo-"union" for indies.

In practice I feel like most of their talents have at least one major drawback that keeps me from actually watching them. For example I like Haruka's personality and humor but her game selection is dogshit. Zentreya is talented, funny, and plays good games but the TTS lagtime is unwatchable for me.

Biggest shame for me right now is Matara Kan. Love her, but the content has been disappointing. Nina Kosaka's game selection was outstanding. Meanwhile it feels like Matara Kan does nothing but zatsudans and multiplayer collabs. I love zatsu as much as the next guy but I don't need four hours of zatsu a day.
