Understanding and adapting one's own patterns of thought, and developing habits to be more stable, reliable, and productive. Much better than assigning one's failures and shortcomings to abstract mental problems so you can feel less guilty when you fuck up, but never improve. Shit like actual schizophrenia and dementia is in another category though. No amount of self-reflection is going to solve that.
