There's lots of really good people in there, some like Lize or Ars for example would fit perfectly in hololive, and many of the bigger members are very good content creators, but it also is extremely mismanaged and they let A LOT of bad actors in over the years, these have harassed other members into straight up quitting due to the drama, popular examples being Roa and Luna, those not always being small, Roa was extremely well liked among the Niji members and fans alike, Nijisanji getting rid of the people stirring the pot is and was fast as Gura doing math, so usually the damage has already been done
They're also horrid with the Accelerate bullshit, I've seem many of the members I like go down to 3 view territory, and have a stream a week due to burning out, with their audience being sent to the new members, many since have picked back up as the new waves don't generate hype anymore due to the excess

The roa and meiro incident sums up pretty well because roa being the beloved kid back then niji just stand with her side and basically told meiro "change your accent for your senpai, stop copying her accent you retard".
I mean meiro reaching to korekore (biggest JP dramafag, he is the one michael gato reached out to as well) is schizo but management can definitely do better.

It also definitely sucks to be one of the liver that sits at dead bottom, they hardly get exposures outside of big events or it requires luck, one example of luck I can think of is Belmond, when he is still a 2view, if it wasn't sasaki fucked around with him he probably still suffers with half of the sub count he has now, ange also kind of affected him too by simping her ass off?
Even with talent it is still kinda hard to blow the fuck up tho. I personally really like Levi Elipha's singing but she is still a 2view to this day. I mean obviously people have different taste in singer but to me the fact she is half of sub count than Machita Chima is quite sad, she deserves more.

Still, have to give them some credit, some livers graduated in quite good terms. Two of my favorite singer Melissa and Chitose both graduated to pursue a singing career without that much issues.

Management is bad, but they can get away with it more as a Japanese company (employees will suck it up).
Tech-wise, Cover has caught up and is now ahead of them. I know some people really like Niji 3D though (never cared much myself).
They've got a huge issue on talent visibility. I'm not talking about their bigger livers not getting that much clips and stuff in the West. I'm talking about all the 3view they've got. A lot of good/great streamers that will never blow up in views and won't ever get any support from the company.
At this point Niji has still two big advantages over the others: a complete grip on male vtubing, and great relationships with other companies coming from their heydays (like Konami or the Pokemon Company).

The point is that she wasn't alluding to covers cut, she was talking about how much money she made off of Merch in vshojo. Getting a 50% cut off of merch is pretty good, it would be better than the cut that you'd get off of super chats but according to Fauna, unless it's a special event merch, merch does not pay nearly as much as you would think. So either cover change their policies within the two years that ksons been gone or The more likely scenario, she was openly bragging about her recent changes to her contract that allowed her to profit more off of merch than what she'd previously done.

Keep in mind that the only way that vshojo makes profit is off of merchandise. They do not take from your revenue elsewhere. Her contract was renegotiated around the same time that nyanners and veibae left.

There are about three members of EN who actually work a secondary job, one of them works a job that is unpaid as an intern. The money is still genuinely good money. Whether or not it's worth the Japanese oversight and all the drama that comes with it anymore, that's for you to decide. That is very correct, Japan's stupid idea of what work culture should be, has held the country back severely but because they're too "tradition" oriented nothing will change.
At least not for several generations. They unironically have to appeal to foreigners because without foreigner money and babies the country would be on the brink of collapse.
