Thanks for the advice, /wasp/ies. I'm hesitant more so because it's kind of an open secret I cosplay, and I've posted some cosplay pics on Twitter sometimes. Nothing revealing, and I've seen some other /here/chuubas also having cosplay/flesh accounts, but they were more established as chuubas at that point, and I'm just starting out. a bit more specific of tips:
try to fuck with every parameter at least a bit, and try to change EVERY texture. use booth assets if you want, make your own if you want. this comes down to not wanting to really LOOK like a vroid model. there isn't a huge problem with it, but i know at least for me i do have a predisposition against something very obviously looking like a vroid model. the most notable thing is that strong rimlight, and the shine on the lip. and the greasy looking hair. of course it will always be a vroid model and in a sense will always look like it but please always mess with parameters and textures and just try to make it really unique. if you arent good with art that's fine again as i said, there are a TON of free assets and a ton of cheap ones.

but really, if your design is really good and you can manage to reel people in with your personality, even if your avatar is total ass many will stay.
