I will count myself as having made it when:

>>6822349
This seems more arbitrary to me, but makes sense if you want to think of streaming as a part-time or full-time job. Though making only above $12k/year would be pretty low for even a part-time job, and would be abject poverty if it's your full-time job.

>> No.6822857

>>6822559
>objective metric
I'm looking at it with the view that vTubing is a hobby, so it doesn't matter if I sink some money into it - what hobby doesn't?

But it shouldn't bankrupt me. I set myself an initial allowance of £100, and I'm not spending more until I have anything (even just in my twitch wallet), to prove there's some viability (male debuff, don't have art buff)

Currently, spent ~£60 on a light mode and dark mode model; and maybe £20 on games I probably would have bought anyway at some point. IF I hit affiliate, then the rest is going on emotes.

But if I get a affiliate and then get a non-founder subscription, I've got plans - either going for a hotkeyed png model, or maybe dive into getting L2D, and using the png as model whilst saving for a rigger.

>> No.6823082

>> No.6824268

You can get money at affiliate level, through subs and bits. You also have emote slots, and channel points

That's about it.

You can't multistream, and you have to wait 24 hours before uploading your videos elsewhere, but you can post links to the existing content. So you can't immediately upload the same video to YT or Twitter, but you can spread the link to the clip/vod.

>> No.6824272

>>6823983
Would the benefits of affiliate outweigh that con? Not that I'm close to affiliate yet, but some of my content has a better chance on YouTube than on Twitch, so I'd worry about cutting that out, or else fracturing a potential audience by doing some streams on one platform versus another.

I'm assuming affiliate would help you grow a lot faster? I know it unlocks the ability to gain subscribers. I'm very ignorant of how Twitch works, generally speaking, though I've been learning.

Yeah, lemme give it a listen. I won't comment on JP pronunciation, but I can speak to principles of singing.

I'm not the most familiar with the song, but it sounds like you have a little trouble maintaining pitch in faster segments. You go a bit sharp or a bit flat here and there, especially, when there's faster bits of text back to back. Try thinking of those segments with a lot of words as one long piece of rope that you're pulling in a long heave, or think of a big arrow stretching in an arch all the way from the first word to the last. When you think of the phrase like that, you'll sing it like that too, which should help with pitch.

It also sounds like when there are larger jumps in interval, you get a little unsure of where to land. That could just be tripping over the words (I know I would be), but general ear training (interval recognition and reproduction) would be helpful.

As far as your voice itself, I think you've got a nice mellow baritone sound, so make sure you've got your feet rooted on the ground, are sitting with good posture if you're sitting, and take big, deep breaths from your diaphragm. Not a bad attempt at all for a quick recording though, and I would like to hear you sing something you're more familiar with. Good work!

Man, this video business is harder than I thought...
I'm still wondering what kind of channel I want to make. If I start uploading videos about Pokemon challenges, people will think of me as just a pokemon player. If I do Dark Souls challenges, the same will happen. People will expect more of that content and they'll leave if I suddenly play Shadowverse or Hollow Knight. "No homo" is inherently homophobic given that the history of the term is all about making sure people know you aren't gay, because being gay is wrong and bad. Like how "nigger" is inherently racist because of its history. But that's not the filter here; no one cares about you saying no homo. The filter here is that you spam "no homo" like some smoothbrain with nothing else funny in their brain. Get some variety, fag.

You could always do an introduction stream with an "about me" kind of deal but I don't think it's necessary, truthfully. I plan to do an introduction/AMA kind of stream when I've got L2D all set, but as a PNGtuber I haven't found it necessary. Plus my character gimmick is very straightforward, so the lore is just "I'm a teacher."

You could always do intro type stuff on Twitter. I think it depends how much you want to lean into your kayfabe. But since most of what you do isn't really related to that, it's gratuitous.
