What do you guys think if cover/enikara starts capitalazing drama for numbers?
The idea itself is obviously not alien to online content/streamers in general be it independent or affiliated.
Would these sorts of thing work as a long-term strategy considering they are still a corporate based on Japan?

For example, lets say cover identified festival's twitter meltdown as an opportunity to organize and auddvertise a sort of grudge match between haachama and her (in minecraft of course).
While this may be bring in numbers, would such an approach be considered 'innovative' or 'greedy/exploitative'.
And does it even matter if it ultimately brings them better numbers.

In the case of Hololive, it'd be like that. After a large event, for example Usaken, they would click on their channel to watch their POV of the event. But baseball event is more or less centered around 8 popular livers playing a baseball game. New viewers/tourists/fans would alternate around them rather than watch the new debuts. They could watch them, but it probably won't stick after a while.

One of the reasons for Gen 5 and EN success was the fact that, with the largest unified source of clips having disappeared and almost all of the past videos from the girls having likewise (because of copyright and the Capcom strikes on Mio)

Whatever they did right then and there was what counted, most of the past had been erased and all that was left was living the moment.

It is hard to describe to newcoming numberfags the hold Matsuri, Fubuki and Aqua (and to a point, Haachama) had in the early days of clipping, mostly because they were the absolute favorites of the zhangs doing the legwork of clipping and translating.

Whoever were the favorites of the chinese got most of the chinese made clips, chinese made fan work (some very very good like Holotaker), chinese made everything.

By having zhangs rage quit out of the market every girl had their slate clean and a chance to go to the top.
Pekora to a certain extent but Suisei definitely grabbed the chance by the unmentionables and became the power houses they are today.

Eh nah, if apex was really a buff we would've seen more livers reach above 10k. Livers who are good at it barely reach 8K on solo streams, more if they are in a tourney. Look at nijiApex. It didn't have as much as hype after inviting literal pros to attend the tourney. Kuzuha is an outlier for the game since he could entertain people in the game as much as Pekora entertaining people from a lot of her games. They got lucky on Bora at first and thought it might be good to hire a high ranker for their vtubers. Selen is Bora V2 with EN buff.

You are about 12 months late in your advice. They DID change their models and hid their bazongas but the loss of momentum from the demonetization and shadowban held them both back a lot.
The fact neither like Minecraft too much as well, they missed on the big Micra boom of late 2020.

In the end Youtube loosened a bit and Mel returned to her base model and Choco is doing ASMR more often and getting better numbers but the damage was done in 2020.

Here is Mel's chart, she streams so infrequently that her 14 days moving average never really "rounds up", it's all pointy and squary.

Here are all of her streams in 2021 that broke 5k peak.

So people understand how much streaming infrequently and having been hated by Susan debuffs her it took the whole strength of Akukin to break her over a 30k peak (beating even her anniversary stream).
I talked a couple of days ago about a simple fix to undebuff Aki SEO. For Mel, I have no idea because the more one stream the more the algorithm pushes to like minded people. Without streaming there is no algo buff and no SEO can fix it.
