rambling ahead..so I guess while the thread is kinda slow I want to know your honest opinions.
thoughts on the smaller community overall? im fine with it and prefer it, but I know for some people they enjoy being a part of something that's bigger than themselves if that makes sense? sometimes I will admit that things feel a tiny bit lonelier since the community is smaller/slower but then I look at how little drama there is now and kind of count my blessings

the core community is about the same size imo, just a little fragmented between different social medias. i quite like it the way it is, having no tourists and no drama, and watching the big man be able to goof off freely and be himself in a relaxed state is worth anything in terms of numbers.

I agree with replies to some degree, that it's more stable and quiet within smaller community. Still I think most of the stupid drama was caused not by the fact that he was relatively bigger, but because there was significant crossing between fanbases due to nature of corpo chubbas. So there were a lot of people, who were functionally tourists (weren't really invested in the streamer they're watching), but tune up to the most of the streams and were easy to upset (and we know what happened with with "holo tourists" during autumn and then with "stars tourists" during January).
So after all I don't want to wish Randon to not to grow and stagnate so this "safe space" stay as it is. I hope he continue to grow, slowly but surely, flux of new people is what makes community healthier imo.

Seems like even though its way slower he's getting a couple new folk (like that really good artist that joined suddenly) that enjoy him for what he is.
Just kinda hoping more undesirables get filtered over time or tone it down and adapt, thankfully seems like the model is a barrier of entry in itself. Don't want the guy to stay stagnant of course but if I had a choice I'd rather he be small with a significantly chiller base than have a big with a fanbase filled with the wrong people, know what I mean.

Yeah, that's kinda my point, balance is always good thing. When someone grows too fast or become viral there are a lot of people joining in without intention of being either normal watcher or part of the community and when there's no growth both fanbase and streamer stagnate and community just shrinks to cirlcejerk and groomer fest.
Although, unlike you, If someone pin gun to my head to choose strictly between one of two of situations - I would rather pick "bigger community with annoying tourists" because I feel like, those are very easily "ignorable" (unlike if you don't really like someone among regulars). But that's just my opinion

There were a lot of factors, that contributed to mess which was going on. Community was pretty young and not established, corpo nature with 'muh unity" (when there was big chunk of viewers who came to streams not because they enjoyed him as streamers, but just as part of group), locomotion with drama bullshit, Vesper himself who, let's be real, didn't know how to handle bigger fanbase and how to avoid stupid problems (I'm not judging him, but let's face he didn't know. Before he streamed to 50 people who probably would forgive him any bullshit and now there's 3000 people watching him)
And about sc: I don't know why everyone mention holo-related ones that much, because in my memory they weren't that dominant and he never developed them into full topic conversations except maybe 1-2 times throughout the year. Like, maybe at high of girls-boys collab there was one zatsu when people where a little more pushy, but that's it. I always thought that there were way more people like
