You actually have to actually pursue lessons and studying beyond watching anime and vtubers all day. Learning Kanji is hard, and Japanese grammar is a fucking nightmare at first, but if you manage to get to like pre-intermediate level where you can actually hold a basic conversation in Japanese you've basically overcome the hard part. Still, that honestly takes most westerners about 2 years anyway, and usually by that point they become Moripilled and kinda just lose motivation even if they keep going to classes etc. If you're serious about it, I'd start doing your Kanji reps now, and not just on duolingo or whatever.

If you wanna become fluent, you usually have to be a very extraverted and hardworking person. Which, considering you're here, is probably not the case.

Thing is, employers in the Japanese ESL industry have a reputation for being shit. The only really sought-after jobs are at prestigious language centres like British Council (which require experience and good refferences), international schools (which require much more advanced qualifications than what Mori presumably has) or decent universities (where if you don't wanna be a white clown employed by an exploitative agency requires you to have decent Japanese). Maybe businesses if you're a middle-aged man with a great portfolio.

No-one who actually has any real passion for teaching stays in Japan for more than a year or two, considering that you could work in China (much better money and standard of living if you can deal with the shitty political culture), Korea (much better money if you can deal with the shit work culture), or Taiwan, Vietnam or Indonesia (much worse money but much lower living costs and a better work-life balance if you can find a decent job). The Japanese ESL industry, with it's extremely low entry-level requirements and shit jobs, really only exists as a springboard for foreigners looking to live and work in Japan in other industries, and therefore usually attracts unmotivated teachers.

Why bother learning something you're never going to end up using?
If you ever see kanji written in a manga or something it'll have hiragana or katakana readings alongside it due to even native Japanese people having trouble with that retarded system, and if you're going to speak or listen to Japanese then it's irrelevant.
The only reason you might need to learn Kanji is to write in in-game chats, but honestly you could just use a mic or type in hiragana and you'd be understood just fine.
Worst case some Japanese person types kanji at you in-game and you tell them you can't read kanji.
Learning kanji is objectively a waste of time and will make learning Japanese to the point of relative spoken fluency take 2-4 times as long as it would if you just ignored that shit.
Hell if you're looking at vtubers then you can see multiple cases of people being shit at kanji but being able to speak the language pretty well, such as Ina and Iofi.
