Everyone in Myth was vital to their overall success. Gura and Mori brought a lot of people in, Kiara organized collabs, Ame kept pushing the boundary of what they could do with her makeshift 3D streams until they got their official models and Ina was an overall stabalizing force by being consistent and inoffensive. If a single person in Myth were different they probably would have failed as a group.

I don't think you could replace Ame with anyone given the circumstances of 2020 since she was the one who did everything in the background. You can only replace Kiara with Bae and only that, and that's because they offer a similar role to put the gen together. That's just not possible with other members of Promise, especially since none of them can speak Japanese at any capacity and Irys isn't just proactive enough to take her place.
Ina also worked on early art for Myth and some march on 2021-2022, so I can see Sana replacing her. However, Sana did not have the constitution to persist like Ina did.

I don't think the specific members of myth have to be "unique" to be the perfect fit at the time, but they were the perfect fit and it wouldn't work if it were anyone else.

I want to like Calli. I got into VTubers from Pekora, right around after Myth debuted and randomly picked Calli as the one to follow. Enjoyed some of her streams up to the little fan competition remixing one of her songs. Slowly didn't watch her anymore after realizing I liked Gura more and I wasn't a fan of Calli's humor, style of streaming, and music direction.

After not following Calli, she went into her stupid phases of collabing with TT, the lean saga, etc. I (want to) believe she's past that point now and she basically hasn't had any drama other than people getting upset at her over the HoloStars collabs which I was a fan of.

The problem I have with Calli now is that I feel like she's overcompensating for her past. Most of the solo streams I tune into, or especially in her non-Stars collabs, her tone of voice is like if she's teaching ESL to elementary kids. Which is really jarring considering the music she puts out and how she behaves with certain people like in the Stars collabs. The lack of consistency throws me off. Obviously people play different characters but she's the only one in EN that does this.

Which is a shame because, like I said, I want to like Calli. If you're a fan of her I think you picked one of the best people to be a members of because she puts out music like a machine, works hard all the time, highly beloved by every other Holomem, always has something fun to announce, etc. It seems like she's truly changed to be fully committed to HoloLive's success which is what I like to see. But I still can't shake some of her past, especially with the discrepancy in her streams from polite ESL teacher to American trash. Deadbeats, convince me please.

I noticed she did it in her very first few streams when she was completely new. But I'm pretty sure she dropped it for the most part during her menhera arc before picking it up again now. But what do I know, I stopped paying attention to her after the first like 6 months and only recently started watching some of her stuff when IRyS started doing ChadCast with her.

Either way, it's not necessarily the voice, it's discrepancy that bothers me. If she was always like that all the time it's fine, but we know that's not true based on some of her other content and collabs. I just have a hard time not seeing it as a bit of a mask.

See, this is the part of Calli that I appreciate now. I think she USED to want to make it normie tier content like Twitch but now I believe like she's bought in to HoloLive and Cover system. I think she's found a good balance between normie stuff and VTuber streaming style where there's a good leeway of being unhinged but not Twitch level of degeneracy.

Which is what makes me feel that disconnect. The other Holomems tend to be more unhinged than her so she plays the straight man a lot. It feels like to me, she can shoot the shit more in collabs or with chat in the way that Kronii does instead of the ESL teacher voice. idk

The impass for Mori is I don't think most of the people will forgive even if she has changed until she says she is sorry and was wrong. She doesn't think she did anything wrong in the moment and she thought if she could leverage the vtuber into the mythical "wider audience" or normies like trash taste people are apart of. The issue is that vtubers and especially hololive English are not really built to make it into mainstream like hololive Japan is able to.

She tried to do it because she probably hates some part of her success has an asterisk.

Ina still does plenty for someone with another career outside of Hololive. Not everyone can be as self destructive as Mori in that regard. Gura and Ame are just lazy but in different ways. Ame streams more than both Gura and Ina but doesn't do ANYTHING with the idol stuff unless it's mandated. Gura does more idol stuff than Ina and Ame but doesn't stream AT ALL unless it's mandated. Eh I half agree. Yes, I think she was forced to grow up and realize that HoloLive was instrumental for her success. But at the same time, I think as part recognizing that is her buying into Hololive and focusing on making Holo the best she can instead of splitting her attention and trying to prove she can make her roommate work without Holo. I'll contrast this to Kronii or Bae who do collab a lot and sometimes with the HoloStars. While they act differently with different members they collab with, I don't really feel like its too different from the normal persona they play on stream. With Calli, they're practically different people. This is what I need to get over I guess, though I'm not sure if I can ever handle the being talked to like a kid all the time.
