It's only a matter of time that in the very near future nigh perfect copies of your favorite vtuber, trained on years worth of vods, will be avaliable for download as localized AI models, talking and singing directly to the fan as their very own personal sci-fi girlfriend.
Will the current industry be able to coexist with this development? Will the average fan still support their favorite oshi despite having an AI copy of them interacting with them on their own PC?

And looking at the quality of something like Holocure, the AIs will be insane.

Considering how many times the "human element" has fucked over fans, I fully look forward to it's removal. Imagine a vtuber who always streams and doesn't take breaks because of "family" "sickness" "burnout" or just plain lying to you. A vtuber that you know will never betray you or have a secret boyfriend or husband. Imagine Rushia without destroying herself and her career, and an AI won't need a career. She'll be just for you. It'll be perfect.

It's farther than you think.

AI training still requires way, way too many GPUs at this stage. Remember, you can't just use the VOD scripts as the trainingset, it's that plus a RLHF dataset of human sentences.

Only way this happens fast is if some company creates a standard model of a human conversationalist that is easy to LoRA (whatever the textgen equiv. of that is). None currently exists and most AI makers wanna go for acing IQ tests rather than raw speaking. Unfortunate times we live in.

She's completely right though, the only world where women would have to fear men finding AI companionship would be a functioning society where women were the subservient class to begin with as they'd lose any way to survive. But the reason men want AI now is because they live in a society where men are the subservient class and women are intolerable when they are given authority in society. The current trends are bad for society as a whole since it cannot survive generationally but it's not actually a problem for any of the individuals involved, it's about as peaceful a mass self-deletion as you can get.

The current form of Machine Learning won't produce human-like characters. It does scale with computing power and input data, but the ways to change and optimise a model are laughably crude.
Flaws, like the AI who was declared to be the best at playing Go being consistently trounced by strategies that an amateur human player wouldn't fall for, will always creep up and aren't fixable without a major redesign because there's no efficient and precise way of fixing a giant model's blind spots. It's too byzantine.

Here's the thing, art will never be replaced by AI. The reality you need to come to terms with is that 99% of what we refer to as "art" is not actually art.
Like a commission artist taking a fee and instructions to draw a picture in line with what he has learned, that is not art, that is more akin to factory work, so of course that can and will be replaced by AI.
Just how intended realistic drawings were supplanted by photography in the 19th century. That didn't mean art died, because art wasn't endangered by this.

There's a certain level of intelligence that gets too high and turns autistic and becomes retarded. It's like lab grown meat, all the smart people think it'll be a huge thing because they can micromanage every aspect if it from nutrition, cost, production, taste, etc. and try to market it as a cheaper and better alternative to cattle beef. But when you get down to the nitty gritty all they're doing is making a poor substitute of grass fed cattle at a higher cost and making money on carbon credits just like Tesla did. AI vtubers will be the same thing. You might think you want a vtuber that does anything and everything you want but it won't be fun because at the end of the day you might as well be interacting with a chatbot. For the people that can suspend disbelief and take a chatbot seriously, sure it'll be great fornthem. But for most people It's the uncertainty that exists from a being with agency and navigating the interaction to get them to willingly give what they want that guves the interaction meaning.

Yes, following clear instructions for what you should do is not art. Of course that doesn't say anything about the effort put in, an engineer or manufacturer puts in a ton of effort into his work, but it's obviously not art.

Somehow I can believe this being quite applicable to ASMR content. Some triggers are quite repetitive and an AI can easily mimic the sounds. If there is a database of multiple kisses, the AI can randomly mix and match them to produce different ones. The fact that something like Neuro-sama exists means you can make a voice model of a chuuba and have it repeat the usernames of those who donated in a whispery voice. Someone can literally automate the whole process with current technology imo.

You joking right. If you know anything about the core fan base of this industry and parasocial idol relationship in general the truth is so far removed from what you just said. Only thing even comparable are idol worship of goddesses from antiquity.

As for AI, I honestly think it's the actual only real way "out". Because if you think about it, what exactly are the fans falling in love with? Is it really the voice actress behind the avatar? While that's what fans with no real outlet of their strong emotions strongly gravitate to, if you think everything through logically, that is actually not the case.
First of all, how many fans would be straight up disilluioned by the actress' irl look/personality if they actually get to know them?
Second of all, how many actresses are actually modern day priestesses that want to stay forever pure for their devout worshippers? How many are just another human being looking to milk cash so they can one day check out to start their own relationships?
What fans fall in love with is the package, not the person behind the package.
And no amount of simping, merch, or even the holy grail of managing to somehow miraculously marry the voice actress will really get you the package.
Sufficiently advanced AI is the only real way.
